SOO today me and my friend jimmy take his freshly waxed and cleaned wrx to pick up his new wrx sti trunk and wing... were 15 miles outside of queens and my buddy's in the fast lane doing 60. I go dude u have to be going much faster to be in the fast lane. soo he goes 100 ha. he begins to slow down when a fucking pack of deer run into the oncoming lane all the way on the other side of the freeway. One deer is hit by an extreamly small compact car and the car is destroyed instantly and skids off the road. the other deer is hit by another oncoming car and the deer blows apart and guts blood and glass flys everywhere and the hood opens up and he slams his breaks on. THEN one straggler deer that doesnt manage to get hit makes it into our lane. were going 90 and slowing down fast as we see the deer head straight for us. We attempt to cut across the highway but was boxed in and the deer railed our car stuffing the fender, both doors, a piller and mirror.. total carnage

maybe the state you live in has shitty drivers. Just because your in a car doesn't mean you own a road.
 
what are you talking about, you can never anticipate something like that from happening and really cant do nothing to stop it, cant stop on a dime man
 
you should be able to anticipate any situation driving, if you can't you should not be driving. In fact you should not be speeding. Maybe if you were driving the speed limit you would have not influenced other cars to speed near if you did and you would have missed the deer by 30 seconds. Wow not speeding is cool isn't it.
 
You'll never said that again when you will be a little bit distracted and a deer will jump right in front of you and you'll hit it... you can never anticipate that thing... a second, the road is clear and safe.. and the other one.. you have a deer in your car hood and you'd hit it ;)
 
actually I live in a town with a large population of deer skunks elk and porcupines. You can anticipate anything deer and other animals don't just come out of nowhere. I keep my eyes on the road.
 
THIS IS MY CAR, I WAS DRIVING, everybody was doing upwards of 80mph (i was in the middle lane) i was on some random ass highway over in new york on my way to queens, and trust me, if i could have avoided it i would have, but when your on a highway SURROUNDED BY OTHER CARS, you cant just dodge it like a pot hole, there were 3 deer that ran directly into traffic, im lucky to be alive, it missed my windshield by 2 inches, and you people are telling me i should have avoided it like it was a pot hole or something in the road...
 
nope only that you could avoid it by not speeding.If a car jumps off a bridge are you going to jump your car off a bridge
 
Currently I don't have enough money to drive my car, so therefore no bridge jumping. lucky me
 
Dude...deers don't teleport to the middle of the road a foot from your car.

It isn't hard to pay attention and notice something coming out of the woods and slow down. Being a defensive driver = not getting into accidents or hitting anything.
 
and who's fault is that?? not to be harsh but i think your playing this situation out the wrong way...highways have a speed limit of 65 mph in most states...most people drive on about an average of 5 miles over in the slow lane...when you get in the fast lane you typically drive 75 to 80...hundo in the fast lane might be excessive but its not amazingly high...dont rag on him for driving 100 in a pack of other cars...when you get in group its hard to slow down or switch lanes...deer are pretty unpredictable...they're so fuckin stupid that sometimes theyll run into the side of your car...you cant anticipate a deer running out of the woods and across the road...
 
i was driving on the highway middle of the night, cruising at a reasonable speed and paying attention even though there were no other cars on the road. all of a sudden there's a deer in the headlights, i was able to slow down and avoid it just fine.

dont go ridiculous speeds and pay attention and youll be fine
 
over 60 miles an hour is an excesive speed of driving waists gas. So why go that fast? And nah that is pretty fast in the fast lane. Its never hard to slow down in a car they are called breaks.
 
yea if i slammed my brakes on the car behind me would have been stuffed into mine and therefore caused a huge pile up. think before you speak

hahaha get off your high horse, the way you are talking it seems like you have never had an instance in which you have came upon an animal in the road. dont try and say every second that you drive, you are anticipating deer that is fucking ridiculous. and all of you people say that paying attention and maintaining a slow speed have to realize that in some situations there is literally nothing you can do. sure you can keep your eyes on the road but not on the side of the road. at night you can not see them until they are in your path and if they come out at the wrong time you are fucked. i agree 100 is pretty excessive but at least he acted smart and didnt try and swerve and kill him and someone else in the process.
 
no they're not...moose destroy the fuck out of cars...my friend was driving and it ran into the SIDE of his car...thats how stupid those animals are with machines haha
 
I live in a place where wildlife is common in the streets I see at least 4 groups a deer a week. in fog I can understand, at night I can understand. In Idaho you always have to anticipate animals, have you ever hit an elk? My friend hit a cow once. that was fun. The people that drive fast such a my friend was when it was foggy, it happens.

How many of you have come across a deer and slowed down? a dog? a cat? a person? How many of you have avoided hitting any of these things? I'm sure there are situations that you are going to hit an animal to save your own life and others but its usually a slim chance because you would have to not be paying attention or driving around in a farm but probability is you can avoid it by maintaining correct speed limits and watching the sides of the road with your perifials(sp)? instead of looking at your phone.
I'm not on a high horse I just hate seeing people destroy their cars because of bad driving habits. Save the the wildlife.
 
i respect that you want people to drive safe and stuff but im just trying to say that even maintaining the speed limit and paying attention does not always prevent this from happening. i was going 45 in a 45 zone, deer jumps out of some trees on the side of the road, i brake but still hit it. nothing i could do in that case. ive come across deer a good 7 times (ive had one jump over a low fence into the road once) other than the time i hit the one and did avoid them fine so i agree it does help to pay attention. just realize that sometimes it is not the persons fault.
 
you are a fucking moron. moose are even harder to avoid because of their height. some times they might not be visible to the driver. their eyes do not reflect light like a deer ether.
 
Ya I know about their height, there is more chance they will hit you because they have terrible eyesite more chance is they will run into you then you into them. I was thinking more upon the ratio of deer and moose, seeing as the deer population in most places is like 10x the moose population.
Oh and i'm a pro thread killer.
 
you dont even have the money to drive soo stfu.. ppl were doing 85 in the slow lane we were outside the city driving you dont even live around here soo get outa here.
 
Maybe by where you live cityslicker, but out here in Ontariariario moose population is only marginally smaller than the deer population. With that being said, deer are seem more often around here because they are less nervous around people. Moose are also raging assholes.

If I remember to take a pic when I'll drive to surely the most dangerous spot to hit a deer.. I'll upload it here ! you'll see... where I live, it's forest all over my village and we had to take roads in the woods and believe me.. you have to be good as a god to anticipate a deer coming off the wood ;)

Heres a pic of my car when I hit a deer on 87 (I was probably doing about 75 and it was like 3 in the morning) The deer more kinda hit me as you can see by the damage, it just kinda ran into the side of my car, besides it head, which hit the hood. There was a nice chunk of guts in my door too hahaha. People on here will say you're a bad driver for hitting deer, which isn't necessarily the case, sometimes shit just happens that you cannot avoid, or see until its way too late. If he hadnt have been doing 100 though chances are he would have been able to avoid the deer, but I guess I'm not one to talk.

On my old jeep the old lady who owned it before me claimed a deer ran head first into the back of the car and just died she was going like 20 in a neighborhood. That would be so weird.My friend was driving we were rockin out to fergalicious driving she was driving fast in fog we were on the back roads there was a huge cow in the road. Pure black taller then our car, we hit it going like 25 thing didn't even budge but we stopped dead in our tracks and busted the engine. I wish I could have eaten that cow in revenge.
