High School Seniors..UVM?

Because the west coast ALWAYS has better snow right? And no one can have a slow start?

Pretty sure the most snowfall in december came Michigan. Weather can be a fickle thing cant it eh?

Came from**.

You evidently are so high on making us think you made a better choice I am beginning to wonder if you think you made the right choice. Seems weird that you are trying to justify your choice when none of us give a flying fuck.

And another question, if the East has such bad skiing, why did the Meatheads film win a best powder segment award? Why not Baker or Crystal?

Because the voter know EC real pow is rare enough that when filmed, it should be rewarded. Big pow at Baker or interior BC is so common its not even worth filming every pow day. All of your cases for "We get more snow" are rare, random cases of luck. We average 600 inches a year. Unless you are here for a year, you can't even imagine that.

And your sat pic is of southern CA/the beginning of the Great Basin. The left pic shows a ton of snow, even in a desert that is typically dry and gives the impression of an endless snowy mountain chain. The reality is CA's average is closer to the pic on the right, but yeah this has been a down year (again) for CA. They seem to be falling victim to new weather patterns that are developing with climate change.

This is from today, and basically shows you just have a ton of shallow snow. We here in the west get to ski the purple shit, which shows we have snowpack ranging from 60 inches to 120+

The BEST you guys have is in the 20-39 inch range. But yeah, you guys for sure get wayyy better powder than we do.

You are an idiot. Plain and simple. Where did I ever make the claim that the east gets more powder than the west? Everyone knows that is true, but my point is that the east does get good snow. You've turned this into a "the west is better than the east because" thread. Ill leave my original point for you because evidently the multiple times I have made it are not enough. Besides, you have humiliated yourself enough and we see how much you value your education because you cannot grasp a simple concept.

Every skier has different values in life and those values may or may not revolve around skiing the most powder possible. These values drive people to a school like UVM or CU or UofU or UW. Our beliefs and values turn us into the individuals we are.

wow your such a stupid fuck. get out of this thread if your just gonna hate on UVM. We'll do us and you can do you..

ps we all know you blow goats

So you aren't even a west coast snob. You're a poser west coast snob... This just keeps getting better!

wow you chose the mountains on the west coast over the mountains in Georgia? What are you, stupid? Georgia gets way more snow than out west.

And to all of you, I just want to know why you chose UVM other than proximity to family or staying instate. That's my only question.

I can list of reasons that will encompass most peoples UVM decisions

1. We like the feeling/atmosphere.

2. It offers a major we were interested in.

3. We were given good financial aid.

4. It is close to the mountains

5. Our parents went there

6. It was a top choice

7. It was the only school I got into

8. It was the only school I applied to.

9. It is in Burlington

10. It is relatively close to Boston, NYC, and Montreal.

11. We like the people

That work? Or is that still inadequate for your lofty standards?

It simply solidifies my opinion that you are all idiots for making the choice to go there. My parents went there? What a birlliant reason to do anything. Close to Boston and NYC? And why for fucks sake, once again other than family, would you want to live close to there? majors - They offer very few unique majors that any other major state college. Only school you applied to? That is pure stupidity. Only school you got into? Learn to apply to realistic choices. Good financial aid? Still not unique to UVM. Close to the "mountains"? So is UofU, CU, MSU, and many others.

I still contend that it offers a western feeling campus on the east coast. And i still fail to see why, if given the choice, anyone would choose western jr. over the real thing.

1. I am paying for college totally on my own.

2. So the ONLY reason UVM is better is to be closer to family, and the idea of skiing pow in big mountains is too daunting expensive.

Glad we got that figured out.

For sure man. It's only a couple hundred bucks more than a pass on it's own and on top of discounts, pro forms, a dope hoodie and plenty of other cool stuff, you'll get to meet all the guys and girls on the team and hang out with us if you want. Half the fun of being on the team happens off the mountain for those who are actually involved.

And why the hell are we still arguing with rebel alliance?

He either

a) blows goats

b) is an asshole

c) is a douchebag

d) is a cocksucker

e) is in the midst of his teenage angst years

f) needs to take the dildo out of his ass

g) all of the above

As much as I hope he's just trolling, I'm heavily leaning towards option g. Like I said before, he needs to take a break from shitting on UVM and reevaluate his opinions in a few years.

I have a serious question for you though... are you even in college yet?

I was actually hoping the thread wouldn't turn into how it is now. Any word on how the film and televisions studies program is there at UVM?

I haven't read more than 5 or 6 posts in this thread. I have no idea what is going on.

But you're a dude right?

I have a few friends who seem to enjoy it. I cant really comment on how the classes are, but they do not seem to be complaining. Lot of options to get involved with if you like the skiing world too.

I cant even debate with you anymore. You are so thick it is unbelievable. If this is the type of education UW is giving you or this is the type of student they accept I am glad I am not there.

Anyways, everyone ignore the troll, he has been fed enough now. Back on topic. Anyone with any legitimate questions about UVM and its community post away.

Confirmed, OP is a dude. Also dtf.

And to Masshole, you can't argue because you can't win.

Lets say you get a full ride along with free plane trips, and you can go to any US school you want to. You still have to be accepted, so for almost everyone Stanford, Harvard, MIT are off the table.

Where do you go?

All depends on the person and their financial status. I have a friend who is paying 24,000 for four years and she is an out-of-stater. Those statements were not exclusive to me but rather a generalization for most people in their college decision.

To the person above me, sorry to hear that but you can only hope for the best now. Hopefully you like your other options

i'm a 21 year old junior I WIN!!!!! ps CU if further from mountains than UVM if you didn't know that...clearly you know your west coast very well

sorry lady.....fuck rebel alliance he blows goats. anywayzzzzz join the team we have mad fun! I have pics to prove!

Was just at uvm for a couple of days. Everyone was friendly and nice. Met some theater kids in centennial woods. Nobody had a negative thing to say. Burlington is a sick town too, there's shit to do. I will be applying
