High School Seniors..UVM?

Who's applying, who's heard from them, who's really trying to go?

I got my application status bumped to VIP so hopefully i find out before the 17th, this week would be ideal. It's my #1 choice and the anticipation is killing me. How's everybody vibe with UVM?

my mom doesn't want me more than four hours away and I really don't even know anyone out there. My parents used to live in SoCal though, they banged me into existence there. It'd be nice to get back there some day.
 
oh those are actually the code words to self destruct my college fund. But seriously I fell in love with UVM and as far as the east goes, what colleges are better for skiing?
 
UVM is literally neighbors with Champlain...i was in a thread about champlain earlier but no one could tell me how it's really different from UVM
 
I'm applying, but idk if I'll end up going there. Gonna probs go to UMass and party for four years before starting the long, dragging path to retirement. Plus, my tuition there would be free.
 
Amherst? I applied not sure if I'll get in state tuition or not. Live in CT and have a house in Mass not sure how that works.
 
Easy as fuck to get into if you have above a 3.0 and 28 on the ACT or 1800 on SAT.

Take it from a current student.
 
thats good to hear...a lot of my classmates have gotten accepted and i havent heard anything from them so im freaking out. My average is like an 89 and i made an 1860 on my SAT ...and my essay was good as shit tbh
 
I'm not a high school senior, but as a sophomore here I can 100% vouch for any claim you've heard about UVM being awesome. As far as skiing, you're less than an hour away from some of the best skiing on the east, and UVM has great support for skiing between the Ski and Snowboard Club and the Freeskiing Team.
 
AGH I JUST WANNA BE THERE SO BAD. are you on the freeskiing team? i looked at the fb page and there seems to be at least a couple girls too
 
UVM is a money pit IMO. See some shows yooo, hang out on Pearl St yooo, wanna get high and tour Ben and Jerry's yooo, OMG magic hat has such a cool building.

I dunno that school is just overrated. I've heard enough about it. Burlington is kinda cool but it's just hyped beyond what it is, a Vermont college town/city.

I went to UMaine, paid less, got a solid education, and skied at Sugarloaf--the east's mightiest mountain.

FYI--Champlain, as I recall, is a lot like UVM with a slightly larger bro contingency.

Im from CT and applied like 2 days ago, its my #1 choice too, but UNH is a close second. i think i got the vip thing too like op did but as far as i know it only let me not pay the $50 application fee on common app
 
Everyone forgets about shitty ole plymouth but I like it that way. Keeps the massholes at bay. UNH is bro central, have fun
 
dk why this guys so mad but its a fun school OP.

everyone skis and the free ski team gets you access to so many resources. just really good vibes all around campus
 
That's because PSU has the reputation all the retarded kids go there. I'm not really sure how deserved that rep is but that's what I hear daily...

I checked that out too. I called the admissions people and they said I should find out within the next few days. Assuming I get in, should I just wait til im on campus to talk to a coach or is it smart to reach out before then?
