High School project for transportation to the mountains

Hello Ns,

I go to high school in Seattle and all year for most of my projects all year i have focused on this global warming and climate change. When I told my english teacher that I wanted to focus on the topic again for my final project he asked why I was passionate about it and I told him that it was because of skiing. After talking to him he made me question the impacts of transportation to the mountains. I thought about the impacts that it has on the diversity of the sport and the affect that thousands of people driving hours to the mountains can have on the environment.

Seattle has a local program called transit to trails that takes people from the city to popular hiking destinations outside the city via a vanpool system. For my project I am trying to convince them to use this program in the winter to transport people to the mountains.

If you guys can let me know if any of your cities do anything like this that would be great. Also if you have any opinions or other ideas on how to solve the problem you would do a lot to help me out.

thanks

actually i solid idea OP, slc has buses that go from park and rides, although all the resorts are close together

I like the idea, to get to my resort any other way besides car are really expensive busses that only run for a few weeks and don't stay the whole day. It would be nice for some sort of service ot get more youngins up on the hill who are dedicated but who's parents can't make the commitment.

Talk someone into loaning you a van and you'll be living the dream OP. Also enjoy it while you can before they realize it was a mistake and ground you from the van. The good for the environment thing is a good angle.

How it was guys? I want to go on such a trip but I want to know some feedbacks because it is not cheap and I need to know does worth it or not. For me, it is very important also the driver qualification file checklist because it is my safety and I really care about it. I know that many car/bus crashes are producing monthly with serious consequences. I'm calm and I hope that this trip will be a really good one. Can you share some pics, please? And how is the weather there?

Youve got a cool icon for being a bot

Cool project, but people need to see your leased Porsh at the hill.

Nelson has the Hitching Post right outside of town. Its an unwritten rule to pick up skiing hitch hikers and drive them up to the hill or bring them from the hill back to the post.

Its a great way to make new friends too!
