im gonna be a freshman this year and im wonderin if anyone here plays football here and if its tough? is it worth playin?

ive been playing since i was like 9 im 16 now and i play QB and LB (weird mix i know) but its not as brutal as some people make it out to be i mean you get alot of bruises and shit but nothing too serious that being said i dislocated my shoulder tackling someone and had to have surgery on my throwing shoulder

at my high school they didn't have football, so i played tennis, field hockey, swimming, track and ultimate

ive played football since i was in third grade and im not worried about contact so much as i am about the hard physical demand

i play and man you totally should its a lot a work at my school but it will make your freshman year a lot better cuz you will meet so many people you should do it. and you will get in shape

speaking of football, i got my equip. today. im a fullback and a line backer. its not really brutal but you will get bruises like someone said above me. it will be worth it, just play its fun

not really^^ i played soccer mmy whole life till last year when i began playing football. and footballs where its at

you started playin football in highschool right

highschool soccers wheres its at

sweet warm ups

6 pack abs

able to run faster jump higher and it improves skiing

same muscles the core and legs

Shits true. Soccer keeps me in such good shape. There's nothing like sprinting and jogging back and forth for 90 minutes. And it maintains your coordination...

xc is honestly such a underrated sport, my ex used to run it and it is fuckin intence

a cross country runner starts a race knowing that by the end of the race they will feel like dieing

in all other sports you enter knowing you might get hurt but in xc you go into it knowing that you will be in pain by the end and thats part of the thing ppl like about it they like the struggle

i did xc for my school, and soccer out of school (but i'm a keeper so not as much running, instead shear panic)

football was always sort of the glory sport, they played friday nights under the lights and everyone would go and they got most of the funding while my xc team ran in front of 4 coaches with uniforms from before we were born. So we of course were not highly respected by them until one day their coach got pissed at them after he got reports of them harassing xc runners and other athletes in the locker room. So he made them run our 5k course with us. While we were screwing around, talking, running backwards and shit, most of them had a lot of trouble. Needless to say, we didn't get any more shit from them

football is sick, i play mac lb. i play both hs football and i also play football for a club team and hs football is rediculously easy compared to club football

I did weight training for like 3 or 4 months and that wasn't bad, but once we got our pads and did plays and shit i got bored and realized i don't like playing football very much. It's too bad my town has this huge obsession with football, it's ridiculous.

the worst is at my school where we have "spring football" for 2 weeks, the freshman basically are the dummies for the seniors... not fun

What position do you think you're gonna play? How big are you? Size is no where near a big a deal as most people think if you got good technique and stuff, but football is a game of intimidation, and if you're big you'll probably get more respect from the get-go. I had to really improve my technique in high school though. In bantam, I was pretty big, but I've stopped growing at 5'10," 155 lbs and I still ended up playing left linebacker. Summers come rolling along though and I'm thinking I'll gain another ten lbs from construction and working out for the next two months. Our team is in tier 4 by the way, which is what warrants the coach to play such a small man at linebacker.

its a big commitment. its takes up alot of your time. i practice 5 days a week, and they expect you to be in the weight room every day of the year. its still hella fun tho

high school football is the decision i am most happy with in my school career. if you are on a team with the right kind of people, the feeling of true brotherhood is amazing. and its the most fun in the world. more fun than skiing in my opinion by far.

at my high school, almost every guy who wants to be a playa goes out for football. what they don't realize is that the best pick-up line at our school is "i'm on the rugby team." i've been asked to play football for my school but i don't like wearing pads, or stopping the play every 10 seconds.

Yeah I played high school ball and junior college ball... Played running back and Linebacker (middle and outside depending on the D) I wasn't the biggest but I am quick and worked my butt off. If you work hard the coaches will love you. Simple as that. Oh and don't let up when you hit somebody, that is how you get hurt.

Bro, if you can play rugby, do it. like the guy above me said its more fun and you dont have to stop every 10 seconds or wear pads, its good as! haha but im in NZ where its like our national sport...

and im not really big either, like other people said its all about technique when you tackle and stuff....

word bro, haha i have some friends who used to live in new zealand, they met playing naked rugby and got married (guy and girl of course, i don't have any gay friends). they are some of the dopest people i know. NZ rules!
