what the hell are they doing to us its like over $50 and most nice places now a days, even snoqualmie pass is like $38 i think for 1000 feet its bull shit and i say we strike....na thats not going to happen. What should we do?

I love cheetos!!

i read an aticle in a ski magazine last year or something and it said that with inflation the prices really arn't that different than what they used to be. just buy a pass and then it will be cheaper.

get a 399$ (299$ teen) pass to mammoth (to late to get it for this season) you can buy them in the spring and its valid for the spring season, and the whole next year for Mammoth and June. it just takes 7 days of skiing to pay for itself

'hey i did it - give me some props here fockers!' eric spriet after 450 to kinked rail to torn ligiment

yeah skiing is a luxury sport, like golf or something. they ask for lots of money because they know they will get it. deal with it

probly around 500$ a month if you are renting a place and you have your own bedroom

in the middle of the ski season Stevens Pass (WA) is like $44! Its fuckin crazy. but if you ski enough like i'm sure you all do the early season pass bought in like april is well worth it. ($299 at stevens so 7 trips pays for it like mammoth...and stevens is no where near the quality of mammoth why's it so much?

Shit in Wisconsin is about $49, and thats Wisconsin. At vail and breck its $69.

Unfortunatly, you guys can bitch and moan all you like, it won't get you anywhere. It would be good if there was a ski union or something, that way we could force the price down a little.

But even so....while you guys are paying $69 in Vail etc, spare a thought for the Southern Hemisphere skiers. In Aus, we are paying like, $77 a day, or $875 for a season pass. And our terrain is no where near as good as the States.

Remember, you guys have it pretty good, so don't bitch and moan too much.

Actually, Snoqualmie is $41. I think they do this to encourage season pass sales. Its more of a sure thing for them, to get the money up front.

im with you JTAus it would be sick if their was some way to do something about, my god its 41 at the pass thats is kinda disturbing that they can rape us like that, sure its close and easy but fuck their is notting we can do.

I love cheetos!!

if they charged like 10-20 bucks you would think that would encourage more families to go multiple times to the hill...

but if you think about the high prices are good to keep lines down if your a season pass holder..

if all goes as planned i will be getting my season pass to spirit mtn in minnesota for $12.75. Thats the employee rate. Last year we made a few fake season passes for friends and we never got caught.

i want washington to get a all ski areas pass, i think they have this thing in colorado where u can buy a pass for like all the resorts or something, cuz i want to ski stevens, baker and crystal, and not just buy a pass for stevens

SPKA

they have an all west pass...good anywhere in wa, id, or, ca if you are like one of the top racers in your division...gold pass or something

''The dead don't die unless they fuck with I.''

I think powder or some mag had an article on those multi state passes but they cost a couple thousand dollars and you have to be in a certain race league or olympic winner or something...i forgot where i read it.

we should start making fake passes and selling them on ebay. all we need is someone with a pass from each mountain to scan it and send it to someone who could copy them and ptu pics on them.

it'd just suck to get caught, go to jail and spend the season being butt raped by a large inmate!

hey, JTaus, thats $77 australian, that makes it what? 30 dollars U.S.? so it isn't as expensive as it is over there.

Bellisimo... Its Italian for grouse

Yeah...$77 Australian.

With the $US exchange rate it would be like...$30 for you (plus a $1500 plane fair) but we still earn and buy tickets in Australian dollars.

So it is all relative. You pay $40-69 in US dollars, I pay $77 in Australian dollars.

Basically...it bites, and is better to go backcountry. It's cheaper, has better snow/terrain, and no punters.

Wait...I just read your bio...And your Australian too.

Now I am confused. Are you saying that it is still more expensive for them to ski, compared to us?

i think if you go to skiwashington.com you can get an all wa pass but its $1000. this guy i skied with last year got a pass from booth creek they are the people that run a bunch or places i think for free some how i think b/c he was hella sponsord and is all over the summits web page

I love cheetos!!

whistler/blackcomb went up to 74$ this year and a season pass is almost 1600$. And that's where mom and dad come in :) lol.

A lot of the big resorts' season passes are scannable, you can definitely get in shit for that. I dont really care since my 5mtn pass was only 320, small, small price to pay for the satisfaction it brings.

Vail, Co or Beaver Creek - oh wait its Vail; its at beaver Creek that you need to have all the expensive gear not the ticketa

' Why does everyone where hoodies to ski during spring when the weather is sunny and there is no need for a hood?? '

I heard its mostly from insurance costs, because stupid people started sueing ski resorts when the yfell or hit a tree, or went out of bounds and got hurt. SO they need big-time insurance to cover all of this.

What is the colour of a mirror?

making fake passes was super easy. you can you use basic photo editing programs and a scanner to put your picture on a season pass. Then print it on some card stock and laminate it then put it in your little plastic pass holder thing. i dont know about big mountains and how they run their whole pass thing but here the liftie just glances and makes sure you have a pass. they dont look at the picture.

Another thing we did was just go to the ticket office and say you lost your pass then they will give you a new one for like $25 and then just seel that to your friend or something. Like i said they dont look at the pic or name close enough to see that both of your passes are the same. but it is kinda scary.

625 ft... $33... 425 ft... $25... 650 ft... $32... 500 ft... $27... 300 ft... $24. (all weekday... weekends are usually 5-10 more) and i think thats about it for the local mountains. :)

yea 200ft=like 30 or something for a sat. day pass. But a season pass this year is only $99. Last year they were 250 if you bought it early

Rastafarians believed Ronald Reagan was the Anti-Christ

a local place here was selling a seasons pass for 150.

for every dollar of mammoths 57$ ticket you get 42 feet of vertical - how your mountains match up?

The pass's season pass is better than having to buy day passes every time you go, but they're still pretty damn expensive. On top of new ski gear, and a pass, my parents and i have shelled out about 650$ for myself alone on ski gear. it's crazy, but it's and expensive sport and i love it. If you don't want to pay the money, don't ski. Ticket prices will go up, but skiing's expensive, and if you save money from your job (or get one if you don't have one already) it becomes tolerable.

WA skiers are cool. I'm a WA skier. I'm cool. You know, Washington apples are cool too. . .
