anyone ever gone? haha im goin summer 2002. which session do u recommend? and what hotel are the accomadations reserved at?

High North is cool. If you are good than I say you should go session 4 and compete in the Whistler Open. You stay at the Marketplace (across from the IGA and McDonnalds and a not too far walk from the lifts).

Definately worth goin. The Hotel is awsome, its right across the street for a grocery store and the rooms are sick. They have 4 people in a condow, you get a kitchen and 2 bathrooms. I went session 2 last year and it was awsome. They said we had the best week of weather EVER.

yeah if i go to whistler im def goin to HN. I went to SMS last year and it was amazing but high north looked like they spent more time on the hill. but im not sure i might go to hood maybe. i personally wouldnt base where to go on accomadations and stuff casue at SMS i ended up stuck on the cot and it wasnt to bad cause your not in your room at all.

Heres the deal:

Week 1: Good conditions, ie jumps shaped real well, no slush problem, really spring skiing conditions.

Week 2/3: Conditions get a little worse, more slushy, hits melt a little smaller.

Week 4: Kinda sketchy I think, not sure but I think Szocs almost cancelled sess 4 last summer? You might not be able to ski back to lift 2. Hits even smaller and slushier, not sure how significant cuz I wasnt there but from pics they look...uh, smaller and not as great but still sweet cuz the diggers there kick ass. Less terrain to ski.

Any week you go will still be sweet Im sure, I mean the week I went it was cloudy almost every day and it still was like my most fun week on skis.

The hotel is a good condo like everyone says.

I hit up session 1 last year it was awesome, but we did sort of hit some good old whislter fog. But thats how whistler is. And one day there was an all out snow storm. The Marketplace is a good hotel, nothing specail, but good. I think i'm gong to do it again this year, but now my parents got a house up there so i'll stay there. But HN is the best HN has the most fun too.

well this summer the pipe sucked some serious ass for sessions 1-3, but for session 4 the pipe ruled all. and session 1 didn't have any rails for the first day or two. session 4 has the whistler open, the jumps were a fine size too.

I think HN does get more time on the hill than SMS too, I go up the Showcase T-bar and SMS is deserted while everyone is still over at HN sessioning the lane.

Another thing to concider is just going for a month, rent a condo with a bunch of friends and ski the public terrain for the same prise as you would a week of camp, well maybe a bit more than a week, but hey. You get a rail, a really good jump, a good pipe, the windlip, and there are tons of skiers to hang out with. And if you can manage the hookups you can ski the camp lanes too.
