High North or Camp of champs

i honestly have never been to camp of champs, but i have been to hn 3 times. all i can say is hn is sick and people who have gone to both like hn better and are returning this summer to hn. Plus at coc u have to use the bottom t-bar which lines are usually longer for

This is just going to be a post with people who love coc and people who love hn saying 'hn/coc is sick, go to ours, their camp sucks!'

 
how do they determine what skill level group you're in? do they have like a session where they watch everyone or something or do you tell them like what shiz you can do?

 
i dont know but u end up skiing with your friends and roomates n shit its chill. the coaches will teach u w/e u want 2 learn anyway. i guess if ur really good thell move u to like a group w/older kids?

Go to hn man, i don't want to share shit with snowboards. Not to diss them out ( i have friends who snowboard), but they are all about new school skiing. Plus you get to learn from THE BEST in the world, not just any skier dude. Plus they have the best park barnone, if you get in that is. Too late now i think.

i went to coc for 2 session and i am returning this year for 3 and i have been to windells for 2 sessions. the kids i knew at hn most of the time chilled at coc, and the kids at coc poached at hn cause they have bigger tables. last year coc had its OWN pipe and there was a public which HN got in the mornings. this year there won't be a pipe. hn they baby sit you more so its better for lil kids, coc you do whatever the fuck you want.

coaches at both camps are well known and both camps have great coaches. coc coaches are mostly the 4frnt riders. also from what i saw last year coc had a better selection of harder rails, and hn has a good selection of rails. coc is generaly on the hill longer then HN cause we get up alot earlier and we don't have group exercing (sp?) like they do.

i dunno about hn's hotel but at coc you share a room with one other person, you can tell them you want to be with a friend, its 2 queen beds, huge bathroom, cable tv, ref. and everything and llike they ahve a huge tv and dvd's and games and comps and shit. i dunno about hn but from what i hear its more of a suite style with like 4 people in a room type thing. but they have room checks at night, coc not so much. coc you get up from like 8-10m and walk and get your pass and breakfast and walk up to the hill, hn eats at the base of the hill cause there hotel is closer.

coc has a ton of after skiing activities that are included in the camp fee, hn you have to pay for it seperatly. but both camps have great things to do. i knew hn kids that would come over to coc and do all the activities for free haha. also hn has a day off snow and coc you ski everyday your there.

food wise, coc the breakfast is really good huge selection, something there for everyone. lunch is a huge deli pretty much. like tons of kinds of breads and meats and cheeses ect. and candy bars and everything really fresh and super good. no dinner though, dinner you haveto fend for yourself, but the sushi in whistler is AMAZING i ate sushi village like 8 of my 15 days there last summer, but i knew people who worked there.

i dunno how they do food at hn, i think they serve you dinner and dinner, and breakfast.

um i think tahts about it, if i think of anything else i'll post it.

what the fuck was that trash skibrdingbitch^. High Norht has a million included activities. Dinners are included every night at a different good resurant. The line ups are shorter at tbars, HN definatley has the most progressive rail park. Its a bummer that they have no pipe this year but the always fuck up when they cut COCs pipe so it doesnt matter. When I was there HN was super tight nit. If a COC kid poached the HN line it was noticable and they were booed off the fucken hill. High North gets one day of boot rest for games and such, and yeah COC does ski everyday. HN's camp is one day longer then COC and you do get the same 8 days of riding. If COC is so much better then HN why is Poorboyz shooting at HN. Theres the most guest coaches, the best coaches period. Who would you rather have the entire 4frnt team, who pretty much hasnt done shit in years(Eric Hijofelson (sp) and Kalstrom aside) or the K2 team, One of the most progessive ski teams around? The big deciding factor. COC is an anthill. Its big but theres a million fucken kids and amillion fucken joeys everywhere. HN is chilled, they have a good DJ, BBQs for lunch and small groups. Camp ratings go like this.

2. SMS/momentum

3. COC

Ive never been to windells but for the horsetman glacier thats who tops the podium.

dude remember how i said i didn't know that much about hn... i was just saying what i knew...

coc has really small ski groups and are supper laid back about who you ski with. they let you do whateverf you want and have tons of coaches and pros around to help you. also there are less skiers so its gonna be diffeernt then hn. i personaly love skiing with snowboarders, alot of my friends snowboard i like their style and attitude and how they actually rep the shit out of companys and support their sport so much.

they are completly different camps, one is snowboarders and skiers, the other skier only. hn has more skier girls, like coc i was one of 3 in my 1st session and there are about a dozen snowboarder girls. i dunno the chica situtation at hn but i know girls going there next year.

definetly high north the tbar for coc is always packed so at hn you can get way more laps and the terrain is way better hn's big table is always bigger than all the other camp's tables

 
the only reason poorboyz was shooting at HN instead of COC is beacause poorboyz is a SKIING company and i believe they'd choose a skiing camp over a both camp. It wasnt because of the terrain because HN had to build that extra booter for Poorboyz when they showed up. I heard they didnt let too many of the kids or none at all hit that either.

For me i've only been to Dave Murrays ski camp cause it was pretty much the cheapest and I could barely do a 360 and some flat bars. Dave Murray's has a sweet coaches to campers ratio. For me it was about 7 kids to 2 coaches. now I can stomp 540's and switch 3's easily. And have more confidence on rails. If your already that good than maybe you might want to consider COC because it did look like they had more terrain judging from Dave Murrays camp. But It's mostly up to you.

i was at sms alot last summer, its pretty small on the hill, its freeskiing and moguls. like 2 tables and a few rails and a huge wall ride. the hotel they have is not nearly as nice as coc and hn, but its still really nice. great coaches just like everywhere else. its just smaller really

I went to Mt. Hood Summer Ski Camp.. It was alright, but there was only this one coach for all the freestyle skiers. And he was really more into the moguls. On jumps he was not all that helpful, since he only threw Spread Eagles and all that stuff. He was a really good Mogul skier though. Still, all in all, I don't think I would go back to Mt. Hood Summer Ski Camps. I'd rather go to a camp with more freestyle-oriented coaching.

 
coc is def sick. i haven't been to hn, but i have friends who have, we both like the experiences of both. its hard to tell which is better. if you're a dude i would say coc, cuz there seems to be a lot more chicks at coc, but unfortunately they're snowboarders, but whatever
