There is a lot of crap being flung around here, so I have to clean some up.

First off Trennon does a sick job at Momentum and Doug does a sick job at High North. You have to go out of your way to make a crappy camp or park these days and those guys kill it.

Other camps, like Momentum and High North claim that their park is less crowded than say... Camp of Champions. Well don't believe the hype. The glacier is broken down into lanes that camps rent from Whistler Blackcomb. Momentum has 3 lanes, High North has 2-3 lanes and we have 6. High North caps their campers at 80, we cap it at 200. Divide 80 people by 2.5 lanes (between 2-3) and you have 32 campers per lane. Divide 200 campers by 6 lanes and you have 33 campers per lane. So the reality is that our Park has only a slightly higher volume of traffic per lane than High North, 1 extra camper per lane. Also a quarter of the 200 campers we have per session are bikers that are in the bike park all day.

The challenge with the showcase side of the glacier is that the top half of the lane is too steep for any features. So you have so ski down half the lane and then hit the features in the bottom half of the lane. We don't have that problem in our park, nor are we too flat. For example The big jump line last year started with a 60 foot table, AKA Biggie Smalls, followed by a 70 foot table, AKA Notorious BIG. If our lane was too flat, you would not be able to clear those jumps located in the upper section of our park.

In regards to lunch, we serve it buffet style, in our park, on the glacier. So you eat lunch in between park laps, like you can also do at High North.

As for t-bar traffic, our t-bar is busier than Showcase. It gets ridiculously busy at the end of the day because you have to use it to get off the glacier, but it's not as busy during the day as some would make you think. Unlike showcase t-bar, 90% of the people using Horsetman t-bar are from one camp, ours. We own that t-bar and unless you spend your time there picking up girls, it's the best place for a good snowball fight as you drill people that don't double up on the t-bar. Make sure you double up.

Now we get dissed for being a bunch of snowboarders with a ski camp by skiers and even by some in snowboarding for having skiers in our park. Some camps may be ski oriented, some may be snowboard oriented, but we're park oriented. Our park is bigger than High North and Momentum put together, plus we have our private pipe that is not shared with any other camp or the public. Although we do always catch campers and coaches from other camps trying to poach our park. To be blunt, we don't care what’s on your feet; we just want to build the biggest and sickest summer park we possibly can for everyone to ride. For those still caught up in the anti-snowboard or anti-ski crap, this isn't the camp for you and more importantly, we don't want you in our park.

At the end of the day, some people like some camps better than others. We have campers that have come from other camps and like ours better and there are some that have been to our camp and like others better. It's all relative. Do your research and pick the camp that you think is best suited for you.

well put, coc's park always looks sick with perfectly groomed jumps and lots of crazy rail features, i probably jsut prefer momentum cuz ive been there before, and i like the coaching

i can never afford to go to any camps but i know people who have been to them. im sure the t-bar wait sucks at coc but the terrain looks amazing!i would give everything i own to be able to session those rails. if i ever do scrounge up enough money to go to camp id choose coc just for the terrain. screw the lineup, if theres a feature i like id hike it anyways

Hey dude, you're confusing your numbers there a little bit.

COC - 6 days of skiing $1,840

HN - 6-7 days of skiing $1,770

All those rates are in Canadian and do not include any accomodation. HN is $70 cheaper and you have the option of an extra day on snow. Our park is over two times the size of HN, so our packages cost more.

So you have to ask yourself what you want, an extra day on snow or a bigger park, and then choose accordingly.

you nailed it!

plus with coc you get to ride with boarders, and you get stoked on stuff they do. I feel that it positively influences my riding.

quality over quantity...

as for the bullshit about COC's tbar not being crowded during the day....yeah fuckin right - you;ve got Dave murray, public glacier access, and the hundreds of kids in your camp.... the lift line is always at least 15 minutes, and it blows.
