i just saw high life and it was probly the worst movie ive ever seen. ill admit it had some good stuff in it but overall it was a huge disapointment. and why the hell didnt TGR do a jib flick this year, i loved subject to change and salad days, whats the deal with that yo

TGR is not a jib company, they are primary into filming the WHOLE mountain. overall i like their approch to ski flicks over any other company although i havent seen high life yet

 
i started off watching TGR movies. I enjoyed them a lot till i saw Happy Dayz. Ever since ive loved Poor boyz and just have trouble enjoying TGR movies. Salad days was so bad i didnt even bother to watch high life

sage had 5 segments, i hate him. it went on forever. the only good parts were Jaime Pierre, and candide/9 year old kid, and pete's segment, but they took up 10 minutes of a 130 minute movie...it went on, and on, and on...

the music was terrible in my opinion and it did just drag on and on... I think i bought it, watched it once and that was it.

thats too bad, they used to really put out some good shit, back in the Area 51 days. the problem is that the industry has changed tenfold since Area 51 came out and they haven't been willing too change....i wish them the best of luck in the future

I don't realyl enjoy wathing big mountain movies.. If you gave me the option to ski a huge line or ski a park, i would choose the huge line. I'm sure its amazing what these guys do, and it's crazy hard, it's just so boring to watch over and over again. Helmet cams, boot cams, they just dont capture the skiing as if i was right there skiing that line. It's way more interesting to see a jib flick. TGR needs to change their approach if they plan on keeping a float.

High life was SICK....what fun is it too watch all this flipping and spinning, it gets so repetitive...big mtn is where its at...Krietler absolutely fuckin killed it

 
Calling it the worst movie ever is just plain retarded, worst jib movie ever maybe but that's not what it's supposed to be. I find it amusing that you guys think a big mountain movie is boring, and drags on, whereas a jib movie gets you on your feet. Whereas people who can actually ski the whole mountain think exactly the opposite, i personnaly cant watch more than 2 jib segments without yawning. And no offence but you're not real skiers if you say that ANY ski movie was too long. They can never be long enough!

 
high life was pretty good..... last year's 'the prophecy' was better......

last year's storm from warren miller sucked.

but journey was pretty good this year.

yo, people who ski a lot of big mountain are the people that generally like watching big mountain flicks cuz they can relate to it. people that ski a lot of park and do a lot of jibbing obviously are more interested in a jib flick cuz they can relate to that aspect of skiing more. my guees is that there are more park skiers than pow skiers on this site and thats why high life was so boring to you guys. thats all it really boils down too, stop rippin on eachother.

I really liked High Life. It was a bit long, but I never got bored. Salad Days was horrible, in my opinion.

Thanksgiving is kind of a weird holiday. I mean, we're celebrating the one time in history we got along with the Native Americans. Its like a date rapist saying 'We should concentrate on the great dinner we had before the evening started.'
 
high life is one of the sickest movies out there. anybody who doesnt apreciate a movie of this calibur needs to get the fuck out out of the rail park and recognize the amazing big mountian skills dipayed in this film. especially sage cattabriga. hes probably the only person out there throwing unatural spins off of cliffs and huge backcountry lines. hes the most progressive newschool big mountian skier, and his movie segment is an example of how everyone should try to ski like. if you havent seen this movie, i highly recomend it. whoever started this post needs to die.

 
That movie sucked, the entire night sucked. After leaving the movie last weekend, we were driving to the after party, and my friend totalled my car. GRRRRR

778skier, long movies are fine as long as they keep showing good, fresh stuff, but a lot of these long ski movies show basically the same thing over and over. too much quantity and not enough quality.

you have to remember that the average of the users in these forums is 12-14 and most of them are from the east. so they cant appreciate the magnitude and intsensity of it snce they have probably never seen or skied a real mountain

high life did have some sweet footage in it but it was not put together in the most interesting way and they dragged it on for way too long. And yes Travis Rice section was sick.

 
I saw it at a premiere and that was ok, but i wouldn't buy the movie, big mountain stuff isn't as interesting to watch as park. That 9 year old kid was cool though

I liked High Life a lot. I do know that most people on this forum are between the ages of 12-16 and are from the ice coast. If I were from hell, yeah I would think that movie was boring too. But the fact that I do ski primarily powder, and I love backcountry skiing....this movie rocked. Kreitler's cork 7 off that cornice was frickin' huge. Sage destroyed it. TGR let me down with Mind the Addiction and Further....but Area 51, High Life, and Los Alomos were sick. TGR doesn't make jib movies, and if you thought that prior to buying the movie....you should be beat down with a tac hammer because you are a moron. PBP, L1P....etc make jib movies. MSP, TGR, Warren Miller, etc...make SKIING movies

There were a few good segments but in a ski movie i don't really care about there life style, i care about the skiing.Then again I've only seen it once.
