Alright, so me and my dad bought a used GR-HD1 JVC camcorder. Two nights ago this safegaurd mode popped up and it wont let me do anything and i researched it and there is now way to fix it unless you pay alot.

So now i was wondering for all the filmers. What camcorder should i get?

I was looking at the Sony HDR-FX1.I found a Brandnew one for 1,700. they are running for 2,500-3,500.

If you guys know anything about it that sucks or if there is a better camera. let me here your opinion.

HD will eat your hard drive alive. You will be able to hold maybe an hour of video. I have 600gb's of space and I need to upgrade soon. I have about 10 hours of video.

you found one for 1700? Call the store before you order it, it is probably just the camera body. I had the same circumstance come up. I ended up getting mine for full price, but i got tons of gear with it, so it was well worth the cost. But i use an FX1 its a great camera would deffinately reccomend it!

and if your interested i'm selling a Sony HDR-HC3, which uses the CMOS processor, its way smaller than the FX1, has all your basic features, films in 1080i, and the footage comes out the same quality as the FX1. for 900 if your interested. Its easier to use, and better for getting started if your interested. Comes w/ 5 hr batter and 2 hr battery. Pelican Case, and everything else it came with when it was purchased!
