High Cascade Snowbard camp, skiers are not welcome!

yes repost but i know what you are saying. I have a ton of snowboard friends that i ride with and i hate when people try to fuel a fire that has no reason to be there.

some of my snowboarder friends push me to progress the most and same with me and them. i always love when i go to a bigger mountain and and you hear lil punk snowboarders talking shit and you just throw down and bang away.

sorry about that!

but still i don´t understand the hate i mean we are all loving one thing, mountains and snow!

shred and have fun!

we have the same lifestyle and way of looking at thing if it is a bc line or a urban jib...

they really have to hate on us just because skiing is gettign big and the recognition it deserves!

there shoudl be enough space on a mountain for the both of us....

its an marketing scheme to get 14 year old snowboarders to say "yeah fuck skiers theyre so gay! ill go give those people my parent's money!"

Yeah of course but we all go to school together people fromsame age i mean, so u can go shred together as well ONE love!

there are so many sick camp´s with snowboarders and skiers together...and they work out just fine!

maybe it is just weird to euro people haha, here the mountain is open to everybody u can go to everysummer camp without signing up for it and the mountain bekongs to all the people....it´s ok to have camp´s which are focused on one sport!

but dude come on u really don´t have to puplish such a horrible advertisment as the high cascade camp did..."when i see skiers coming in butt first to a jump! I throw up a little, and I prefer not to throw up"...what a fucked up qoute...

i don't think it's bad to have a camp focus on one sport, i just don't like the fact that they're marketing it as ski-free. "when i see skiers coming into a jump butt first i throw up a little, and i prefer not to throw up." all the quotes are really unnecessary. don't make me think very highly of high cascade or of the guys saying those things.

they don´t ?!

but at least the don´t hate on snowboarders in there marketing!

as i said in europe it is a whole diffrent story...

the idea about single snowboarding skiing skateboarding etc. camps is completly ok!

i just don´t get a long with they way of advertising they use...

Didn't Line release a graphic making fun of snowboarders? Kinda hypocritical I'm just saying. I mean, skiers stole snowboarders terminology, dress, etc. Park skis basically look like 2 narrow snowboards. They stole the idea of switch....Nati/unnati is the same thing as front side/backside. We were the first to throw ourselves down handrails and do grabs. Without snowboarding, you would have no freestyle skiing. Hate goes both ways. Sure a lot of skiers are cool and I ride with them and watch them throw down insane shit...but I like the idea High Cascade is going for. A snowboard only camp is better than a camp that offers both because they can truly focus on one sport. That means 100% dedication, not just having both groups of riders to draw more campers and make more money. They build snowboard specific park features (lips, landings, etc) From a physics point of view its just makes sense to have separate parks.

Not trying to spread hate but add fuel top the fire for more discussion.

im pretty sure that graphic is a legit picture of one of the founders of line back in his snowboarding days

but im really stupid when it comes to this so i could be wrong

alright, so whats the point of having "features tailored specifically to snowboarders" in your summer camp park if the whole season your going to have to ride a park that's designed for skiers too?

That all depends on which parks your riding. some park diggers are biased and only create features they would like to ride. If the majority of your ParkBully operators are skiers...then it makes sense that the park will have more features they would like to ride. goes the same way with snowboarding.

high cascade sucks, those kids are such entitled bitches

the fucking skatepark takes over all of govy and these fucking hesh dochebags think they own the town because their parents sent them to a fancy camp. then they slide down the public lane on their heel edge before dropping into their ridiculously sick park where they do a sick 3 foot air coupled with a totally gnar indy

i really dont care. but if a bunch of snowboarders choose to go to this camp because theres no skiers then i really wouldnt want to ski with them!

yea itd be sick to have a huge train of skiers poach it nxt summer and dress for gaper day just to reinforce their stereotypes of skiers

Why don't you post some of these snowboard vid threads where all you posers suck snowboard dick and fall all over yourself talking how "g" these knuckledraggers are... maybe then they'll let you ski their lane.

It should be noted that having a camp devoted to only one sport, such as Momentum, is fine. There are plenty of reasons why it is preferable, however, the discrimination Cascade exhibits is unnecessary.

I'm going to have to disagree with your point about a park being dedicated to one sport being better. Firstly, I work at COC and we host a snowboard and a ski camp and it's nothing to do with more money, absolutely nothing. Why would we not want to let our friends who ski/snowboard, ride the park with us? We're a "park" camp so if you ski or snowboard and want to ride park, we cater to you.
Secondly, ski resorts don't build their parks for just one sport, so can you honestly say that the HCSC snowboard park is better than any winter resort's terrain park that caters to both? The snowboard pros that ride our park, like it better than HCSC, so I can tell you with absolute certainty that a one sport specific park does not result in a better park product.
On another point, sure skiers generally prefer jumps with more pop, but I also have snowboard friends who prefer floater jumps, and others who prefer tombstones. So is it sport specific, or is it just personal preference? Either way, the more diverse features you ride, the better skier/rider you become.
Does this mean it's wrong to only cater to one sport? Not at all, some just have more class or a better sense of humor than others. Still, it's a lame ad, but it's even lamer that we brig anymore attention to it. Better to just let it go the way of the mono-ski.

you have to realize why high cascade hates on skiers (rather amusingly too I might add). They try to draw the adolescent snowboard crowd of mainly shitty snowboarders whose parents are filthy rich that think it is cool and the status quo to hate on skiers. Sure, they get a lot of really good boarders too, most of whom are beyond this sport rivalry contempt, but their base is the little shaggy hair shaun white shithead wannabes.

i respect the idea of having a one-sport camp, but it just really annoys me that they would use hate on skiers as an advertisement, its just gonna escalate the hate because a reason that some people are gonna go is because they get focus together on hating skiers. Its just a really bad, mean way of marketing

if you were a skier you would get owned. but for snowboarders its very easy, I was at windells and I just "accidentaly" took a couple laps in their park, no one said anything.

sorry for the double post, but I love the marshmallow. and I like their advertising scheme, they give everything names and their videos are fun to watch. they do hate a lot on skiers though

"ski poles are just plain dangerous"-marshmellow

yeah they kinda are

because if i ever saw that fucking marshmellow i would shove my pole up its ass and roast it over a fire

We came down through there on the way to MHSSC one day this summer and a bunch of the coaches started freaking out, saying they were gonna fuck us up and drag us over on the rocks and stuff...one of my friends was skiing switch and accidentally dropped into their halfpipe straight to flat, it was hilarious. They definitely weren't happy. Fuck those dudes though

You know who owns part of HCSC? This guy. You should leave mean comments on all his articles. There's about a 100% chance that it'll work and he'll change his mind about skiers.

I'm surprised by how many people are upset over this. By making a big stink about it, you're only fulfilling the stereotypical elitist skier attitude. Honestly, who cares? Losing your cool over something so trivial only hurts yourself, not those who have "wronged" you.

Besides, we get Alta all to ourselves! Not that this is entirely a good thing by any means, but I'd take Alta over Hood any day.
