High Ass Box

ok so at lab there is this wall-ride, which is pretty useless since the tranny kinda melted, but on top there is a box that is slanted towards the tranny of the wallride and is about 7 ft above the ground, and the lip up to it is about 4 ft lower than where the box starts. i feel like i really have to sack up and hit it this weekend before i go back to school. but the only person on skis ive seen hit it is this crazy kid andrew who destroys everything in the park, and that doesnt really give me any confidence cuz its not like if he can do it i can, anyone else hit it? any advice even if you havent?

dude seeing even andrew hit it should give you the confidence to hit it. its not some tech ass trick that you need loads of skill and coordination to do, it sounds like its mostly that you dont think you have the balls to come in hot and go for it. just go for it dudem if andrew can do it you can. dont psych yourself out, just get pumped, stay calm, and COMMIT

werd, thanks, but andrew wilson? the kid in the obermeyer suit? hes fucking amazing. but you are pretty much right i guess. that and the fact that ive never slid an uneven surface before. i feel like id slip off, and since i slide left foot forward, right onto my back.

Just think of how disapointed you are gonna be for the rest of the week if you don't do it. think of that when you are scared.

i dont go to lab so i dont know who andrew is, im just saying that in this case, if he can do it, you can. dont worry about the uneven box thing, just stay low and calm and youll be fine, seriously.

and as the other guy said, think about how youre gonna feel in class on tuesday if you dont hit it this weekend...

just dont make it a big deal in your head, warm up, and go for it man, you'll be fine.

we have an 8 ft high rail at our park. its a blast. just sac up and commit. its just like a normal one, just more commitment.

yeah, andrew really really kills it in park. if i were you though, i would hit it. the worst thing that will happen is a few bruises. im going to lab on monday, and i plan on hitting it

High boxes are fun... Well like they said above, you've seen how much speed you need to hit it and now all you need is some sac to pull it off.

andrew wilson, well maybe ill just keep my mouth shut about him for now.

but anyways, about that wall ride, its a bit scary yes. first i would suggest waxing is a bit, it was sticky when we tried to hit it, especially in the begining and end. as for tips, it took us a while to actually start greasing it.

Start off lauching off the jump kind of like next to the top of the wall ride, then after doing the a few times gradually work your way so your more over it. once you start to get the feel for it really commit, go a little faster than you need to and aim at the middle to the right side of it. then when you feel comfortable, start grinding from the begining, once you get it down its really fun and not scary(as long as its slides good.) oh and try to have you skis the same angle as the box, i.e. flat on the box, in order to reduce chances of catching.

its differnt from when you bogarts were here because the lip melted a ton and it is a solid block of ice.

no they don't that park is shitty.

anywho i've hit it, it's really not hard and it's more intimidating, when i first hit it i felt a little weird coming into it then i got onto it and was like whoah this is mad easy and mad fun, just commit it looks alot worse than it really is.

duuuuuude. did you just totally see my switchcork 9 truckdriver????????? it was like 350 feet off the deck of that 150 foot stepdown

^its not an eastcoaster thing. its a labrador thing, and bristolrider probably knows since he goes to lab sometimes and has probably experienced the andrew wilson

yea dude...DID YOU SEE MY 450 ON 270 OUT ON THE S RAIL? i totally did it after my my threw the 4lbs of weed into the fireplace.....

^translated into wilson terms, it was probably: dude, did you guys see my doublecork 1080 that was so far out, i landed on the far side of the lodge. then i tailpressed the roofline of the lodge (did i mention i broke a pair of fujatives tailpressing the whistler wallride???) and after that, i skied down to my car and rolled amidst 500 pounds of X

man, just like go slow and tap it rock and roll style, then go faster and faster untill you make it all the way up.

bristolrider- he claimed at lake placid water ramps this summer that he could take on the entire i hate NY crew. i thought that was funny.

The best i have done is just tapped the top. its not that great. besides you can't hit it today(saturday) because the mother fucking mountan is closed!!!!! I AM PISSED. sorry for stealing your slogan here bogarts but, I HATE NY. Ya and subjekt about andrew wilson, he is good, probly the best at our mountain, but he pails in comparison to a bogart, so don't think of him as god or anything, hes just another talented douchebag.

Holy shit this is scary of how much that sounds like someone I know... Actually that's the exact same thing someone said here.

bristolrider, armada7-ar5 is addressing this comment to you in regards to andrew wilson thinking he could take on the bogarts. for clarification

wilson: "dude did you just see how far i boosted out of the pipe!1! how high was it"

everyone els: "like 3 feet"

wilson: "no way that was like 14 feet man. feel how ligt my poles are."
