level 1 stepped it up alot this year. more dope BC booters, even more urban shenanigans, and much better vibe than previous years. sicko soundtrack too. charles g. craig c. and austin r. have dope segments, along with peter o. my favorite jib flick for the season so far, i give it 7 gold stars, and 3 red ones. good job to all involved.

yeah, i never really remember the movie if i go to the premier. All i remember about the soul purpose premier is yelling'Go Skogen' really loud when his party started. But back on point, im gonna have to pick up a copy of high five.

If anyone wants to see High Five, see it! In montreal premiere. October 26 at Bar Le Swimming. One of the biggest gear giveaways ever!!!!!!. Doors at 7:30 pm. It,s on St-Laurent just north of Sherbrooke. $7 bucks at the door. Oh and did i mention athlete appearances.

yea high five was awesome, the only negative part is that it is sorta dragged out for a while. or maybe thats just cuz i watched ten 30 minutes before going to the premier.

 
if you are a criton fan you might not like his seg. he had some health issues that i would assume affected the seg. yeah it is better than Forward. better soundtrack, in my opinion. can't say if it is the best since i have yet to see X and wski, but i personaly KNOW that First Light is the best film of the year....

but i'm sure High 5 will be VERY close to the top when it's all said and done

dc part was okay. he grinded a box with a skateboard under his skis. for some reason that was one of the most vivid memories i had through the drunken haze. anyways good movie with good vibe. check it out.

i think first light was tight, its refreshing to see some people throwing down that arnt huge pros.

I'll say it. I think the movie was real mediocre. Lots of shots of the same booter with different people doing the same tricks. It makes me wonder if possibly there is some truth to the academy question article in last month's freeze. I don't think I agree, maybe the scene is just becomeing a bit saturated, but none-the-less, the movie was unoriginal and repititious in my opinion. And I liked forward alot.

As far as the premire (boulder), it was really kind of a joke. It didn't seem like Berman or any of the pros there took it seriously, probobly because they were almost all wasted and acting a fool. Bermans lateness, the hip-hop shit, and the fucking around with the DVD shit drug it on way too long and the energy was killed. By the time the movie actually played (probobly an hour late), I was completely bored and ready to walk out. I would give it a c-.

well, yeah. That was a problem. Unfortunatly both liquor stores on the hill were closed and the venue didn't serve booze, so the buzz i had estabished before I went had dissapated by the time they got around to showing the movie, an hour and a half later.

And to say you had to be drunk to enjoy the movie isn't saying much for it.

 
Sobriety must suck at an event with 700 drunk people. It was an absolute shit show as it should have been... apparently you didn't get the memo about premiers.

High Five is Berman's best, in my opinion, and the soundtrack is ridiculously good. In one year Freedle and Josh made the transition from a movie that was predominantly park to one that is mostly backcountry. Props to L1P

Well, next year (that is if there is a show next year, questionable with the haphazard organization the past 2 years) I suggest holding the event at the boulder theater so that obtaining booze is not a problem. It may, however be a problem for all the idiot 16 year old drunks, but not my issue. And also, I sure didn't see 700 people, it was a better turnout than last year, but thats got to be an over-estimation.

And really, the backcountry was laughable. I want to see big, technical lines skied well, not a couple of 3 turn lines skied out all sketchy. There were some nice shots of some bc booters, but watching alot of these dudes try to actually ski was just a joke.

 
It was allright, for some reason i was kindof bored watching it, maybe it's because they had the same jumps/rails in lots of segments, in my opinion it wasn't as good as forward....but that's just me..

 
Switchbitch, first of all, it is not a big mountain movie. If you want to see gnarly technical lines, you went to the wrong premiere. It is a very very well made artisticly sound view of the jib scene. Yes it involves backcountry booters, but no one is trying to say that that is big mountain or even off piste. And as far as the turnout, 700 is very close seeing that the venue holds 1000 at seat capacity. The premiere was so much fun, and if you didn't have any, maybe you just don't have any friends to enjoy the good times with. Everyone I spoke with had a blast. Maybe you should avoid big parties and groups of people, lock yourslef in your apartment, and convince yourself that you are a better skier than those kids. Get a life.

Oh yeah, the movie was fantastic and there was hardly any jib or jump used multiple times. Very diverse landscape and camera work. A+

premieres at the boulder theater suck. it's much better to have something like that right on the hill so you don't have to drive to it and worry about being that wasted.

its the best ski movie ever. neat soundtrack, good editing, amazing skiing. i have yet to see wski106, though. HMMM.
