Hiatal Hernia?

I have a Hiatal Hernia either from lifting or busting and I'm wondering if anyone else has had one and how you fixed it.

Non-stop heartburn and bloating, Drs., said to take an antacid, which doesn't help and does nothing. I need this thing treated at the least because I'm very angry and I want to flip the cars of politicians.

Have you had your gall bladder out? I used to get this real bad to the point I could barely walk it was so painful. They took my gall bladder out and it’s almost stopped.

Proton pump inhibitors (a fancier anti-acid might work) but you’d need a doctor to prescribe- or surgery in some cases as I’m sure you’re aware. I would go try to find more doctors and get their opinion if the other one isn’t giving any options that work. Medical system is so open to interpretation by each doctor…

How long should you let your gall bladder air out before putting it back in? Do you do it every night before bed or just like once a week?

Short answer: call your doctor. Heartburn blows.

What "antacids" have you tried? What dose and frequency? How have you been taking them in regards to your meals? And for how long?

Also there's different types so the right strategy can make a difference as well as when you take it and your diet and eating habits.

The OTC doses are generally much less than the max doses you could take. Your doctor can prescribe higher doses.

Honestly it's probably easiest and cheaper to have your doctor call in a prescription. OTC antacids are unnecessarily expensive. They can also educate on non-pharmacological ways to help with heartburn. Also important to assess for drug interactions if you're on any other meds for chronic conditions since some antacids can interact with certain drugs.

But, assuming you have no other health conditions, and are not on any other medications, here's what I would do for maximum relief. This is not indefinite therapy either.

-Tums as needed up to the max daily dose on the bottle

Plus

-Famotidine (Pepcid) 20mg twice a day without regards to food; stop after a week and then only use as needed for heartburn. You can develop tolerance to this drug so taking as needed is best. It will provide quick relief as well.

Plus

-Omeprazole (Prilosec) 20mg twice a day or 40mg once a day (before breakfast). Take 30-60min before any food. This drug takes about a week to fully kick in.

Your doctor can even prescribe higher doses than this but probably won't unless you are failing at the lower dosages. If you aren't gonna call the doc now, at least do it if you're still having issues 2 weeks later or if it gets worse.

Thank you! Turns out the hernia is small and I was postive for H. Pylori. They said the pain is probably from the H. Pylori. I need to kill these little shits.

Oh if you got h pylori you need antibiotics to kill that shit in addition to antacids for symptom control. That's actually great news cuz it's a hell of a lot more curable than heartburn in itself

Yeah, it sucks, I don't have antibiotics yet, though I could use some older ones I have with the same name. You have to use like 3 or 4 to kill them. I tried probiotics and kefir and that helped the pain and symptoms a lot but it always eventually comes back and I'm bloated, so I'm waiting to get the antibiotics. On a side note, I looked up why I was bloated and the first result was a forum dedicated to women that induce bloating for pleasure as a fetish, weird.

yo fam i literally studying this right now for a quiz, did it goo away yet?

It doesn’t go away. Surgery is the only option to fix*. But lots of people live with it, Omeprazole 2x a day will make symptoms almost non existent. At least for me it did. I’ve been on it for 12 years.
