Any body ever seen that show on the SpeedChannel called Hi-Rev tuners? It has all those pimp import cars and the two hot hosts and then there is that fag guy. does anybody else find him to be annoying as fuck? He doesnt know what he is talking about and is so dull and monotonus. They should Ditch his ass and get another hot bitch

 
I completely agree, the show has some sick rice rockets, but the guy is just a fucking idiot, so are the girls on there. the girls are just there to look hot and they cant even do that! i can't stand that fucking show, it sucks, id rather watch martha stewart home living and masterbate into tupper ware.

That was sorta a dumb statement. I agree that fwd is really limiting to about a 12 sec. 1/4 in a street car, but you have to explain yourself better then that. What sport car could someone buy that would perform as good as a well mod'd car? I'd like to know, and don't say a camero or mustang. Insurance is way too high for any normal kid to afford. Proper suspension tuning with a lsd up front can get a fwd drive car turning way harder then any off the shelf sports car or muscle car could, short of a 'vette or viper, both which cost a lot more then the money kids are throwing into imports. Don't forget the sick new turbo awd cars like the wrx and evo7(soon to be) in the us now too. Stock those are about as quick as an camero ss, definitily within a 1/2 sec. in the 1/4 and would pull way harder around a track. Imports get ripped on too much, and I'm getting sick of it. If people just looked at the stats, they would see the potential in imports.

im with the audi guy on this one.. like if we could all afford to buy and insure top of the line sports cars we would.. but like, for somoene getting paid by the hour, its kinda touch to throw down 50 grand for a car that really isnt that great anywase..

I agree rice rockets do suck, only good for going in a straighline, and they are ugly as hell. Not to mention fast and the furiously gay is one of the worst movies ever, I liked it when it first came out but every time I see it gets worse and worse.

Nothing you can do to a front wheel drive will make it compare with a rear wheel drive as far as turns. If you plan on tracking your car or driving in the twisties you need either rear wheel dive or all wheel drive(one that gives more power to the rear wheels)

yeah, i would take a top end sports car if i could afford it, but being able to create your own ride is pretty cool(if you do it right)

Once again, words without substance! Give me an example. Don't just say stuff without backing it up. Check out the Speed Vision Challenge racing series, which is a major racing event that takes place at most of the American Le Mans Series events, Mazda Protege MP3's were beating E36 3-series on a consistant basis. That's a fwd 4 cylinder vs. a rwd 6cylinder in case you didn't know. I'm not going to try and argue that fwd is better overall, that would be foolish. True most race cars are rwd and awd, as they can get more power to the ground and pull out of corners harder, but fwd isn't as awful as people think it is. Grippy tires, good suspension tuning, and a nice limited slip differental can transform a car from termainal understeer to controlable oversteer. I'm not trying to start a huge rant here, but you gotta do some research and actually know what your talking about before you start claiming to know it all. Saying things like that doesn't make you any better then the dumb kid with a Si who thinks an intake and exhaust will make his car run 12's. It's a shame that you don't see more nicely done imports, that are well rounded, as oppossed to the dragster's that american culture promotes. No where else in the world is 1/4 racing all that important, so I'd be very willing to guess that there are plenty of these nice turning and well rounded compacts in other parts of the world where the owners have not been raised in a culture that mainly promotes straight line speed without an emphasis on other aspects of car performance. Alight, I'll stop now.

Good point you have there! And I don't want to get into another battle about cars, but...

My brother races GT all over the world, it's kind of ironic because he actually races a E36 M3 and if I remember correctly he told me that the mazda are actually converted to rear wheel, now don't quote me on that because personally I have no proof to back it up. I have been to a couple racing schools and tracked cars many of times and have never seen an FWD that could even come close to a RWD. You just gotta ask yourself this 'if FWD is so good why do all the best cars in the world have either RWD or AWD?'

And yes I've seen some nice asain imports, they are the ones that have tons of engine, tranny, suspension mods but aren't riced out on the outside. I just can't stand those stupid wings because they don't do a damn thing for those cars and the paint jobs and stickers are also ugly as hell.

Cool, nice to know some other people aren't ignorant. I completely you agree with everything you said, and that's awesome about the racing you/your brother are involved in. I can't stand imports with gaudy wings and too many stickers too! Those are usaully the slowest ones out there. I can say for sure though, that the MP3's are still fwd. I totally agree on a ultra competitive racing level, rwd is the way to go. As I'm sure you know actionsports, driving schools almost always start with a fwd car, becuase they are a lot more forgiving, and then move on to something rwd when it gets serious. I hate to get into this 'my friend has this car' crap, but my good friend does have a fwd VW 1.8t powered car making about 320hp at the front wheels. It's a rocket in 3rd, but below that it spins all day long. He's actually in the process now of selling that car for an Audi A4 quattro becuase he has seen the value of awd/rwd too and wants some thing that is more driveable. I just hate to see too much import bashing, becuase that's where I got my start being involved with cars and have learned a lot about through working with those. Good luck with your bro's racing. The E36 M3's is a sick car.

Cool! But I'm not quite the racer my brother is, I just get to do it every once in awhile for fun. Yea the E36 M3 is a sick car but the E46 is even sicker, thats what he has for his regular car and I often get lucky enough to drive it, its a blast. I don't know if you know much about them but he got it with SMG II tranny and holy shit its like being in a video game.

The one downside to RWD is snow, and thats probably pretty important to most people here.

i just dropped my audi s6 avant 3 inches and put sway bars in it about a month ago. new cold air intake should be the next thing in it. its all stock except for the drop/sway bars and struts

My main problem is how all these guys ride around in pimped out hondas with a giant tailpipe and some blue lights and think they can race the world! its bullshit, the only real performance upgrade to a honda or acura or any of that shit is a turbo which runs you about $3,000! any guess how many people actually have one, not many! they just pretend to. and uh just for the fun of it I raced my friend the other night, he has a 96 honda civic manual, I have a 84' Volvo turbo automatic and beat him off the line and all the way down the road, so don't give me any shit about how imports are fast cuz they aren't!
