Hi help me

Well, nobody can blame you for having concern over your parents financial well-being. Most kids these days demand the world form their parents with little regard to where that money came from. I really can feel the same way, but when I bring it up they normally say something along the lines of "It's our job" and maybe a "you deserve it" every now and then. Don't get to worked up over it if you have feelings that they couldn't afford it. The world will still go around and life will go on.

As for returning it, so long as you don't have to pay to boot then I don't see the problem. However I bet you are going to have a tough time finding an MacBook of any type that has the same specs that yours has for the same price.

Its good that you feel bad i think. It shows that you're not a spoiled brat and you don't take what your parents do for you for granted. You're fine bro, just make sure that you know what your parents do for you. Offer to help your parents around the house more often or doing errands for them or whatever idk.

And to the comment about macs are better for video editing, that's not entirely true. It's all about what's in the computer. You don't need final cut pro to be great at editing. Adobe Premier will do just fine.

And honestly you're probably gonna be spending more on a mac than you are on PC.

Quit stressing and make it known you appreciate your parents.

I didn't read all of your post so if you bought a Mac you definitely overpaid.

If you bought extra protection its probably a scam too as most (nearly all) credit cards will double the original warranty just for using a credit card

If you decide to keep the laptop the best way to give back is to put it to good use as in utilize it for bettering yourself in school and learning how to do shit like quick books. Not waste your time on it. Doing this won't put your parents money to waste

this is pretty hard to put into prospective, I asked my parents for a laptop and I got one that Christmas, no questions asked and I didn't ever think of cost. I was brought up as a spoiled kid, and I got the laptop when I probably should have dawned in on it being pretty dope.

If your parents are well off I honestly wouldn't feel too bad because to some people money is an object. Not only that and you only spend 1k cad on it so it's not tooo much anyways.

And if you're not well off, you had better be taking out the garbage like twice a day.

PC's are fine. I've had mine for 5 years and paid $400 for it, didn't buy any extra software or shit though. I don't do any video editing beyond windows movie maker though. Use it for basic stuff like photos, budgeting, internet, windows movie maker edits, netflix, adobe suite, writing papers, etc...

So tonight my family and i ended up going shopping for laptops. I found on i liked for a pretty good price (650 or something canadian) so i asked my parents and they said yes, the grand total was over 1000 dollars with all the protection coverage and jazz like that. I have never seen my parents spend THAT much on me and i feel fricken horrible. Also because i think i made the wrong choice because apparently macs are better with video editing and stuff. At least there is a 14 day return and i get my money back, but i feel really bad and guilty that my parents spent that much money...

Enjoy the laptop and the money that your parents spent for you...it shows they love you and want you to enjoy what you do.I like my PC. Second I saw this post about feeling really bad and thought it might be something similar to what ive been going through....to put it in perspective you feel bad that your parents love you and spend money for you... Im lucky if my parents get me something so you should feel happy. I also have a broken neck. I may not be able to ski ever again. I cant rest or put my head down, It takes me an hour to shower, I have to wear a neck brace for two more months at least,I cant do any activity's, and I was made fun of constantly by people on my first day of school today because I was wearing a neck brace. (Also macs are not that great)

this is exaclty what popped into my head when i read the post loll. shout out spongebob. and get well soon ebola.

It's pretty common for parents to buy their kids a laptop before college. Mine didn't because I didn't go to college and they don't love me

its good to see that you're conscious of stuff like that. people like my sister would pull that kind of shit on purpose and then not say thank you. however, if your parents can afford to drop that money on you without it straining other things, I'm sure they're just happy they could provide for you. take good care of it and use it to make them something cool.

Your fine op, you were just raised modestly and you dont demand everything. I am the same way. I feel bad even when my parents spend $100 on me for new clothes

Dont feel bad, stay with the pc. plus theres ways to run mac software on pc if you really want
