sup im new to the forum :)

but i've been researching stuff here all the time

I desperately need a binding for my AR6's... I'm almost 200lb and I'm just getting into the park...

I was looking at the Griffons and Jesters but I noticed that a lot of you guys are against it, but some love it.... but in the other hand i read somewhere that I can't go wrong with Rossi FKS or Look Pivot.. I also looked at the px12, tyrolia15&18 or smth, mojos, etc...

I was almost buying online the Pivot 14... cuz the 18 are like 100 bucks more

pivot and fks are the very same construction/materials? should i get the 18 or the 14 will be fine? do they differ in materiasls/quality?

bottom line... i need some nice bindings that are durable, reliable, and GOOD. I dont mind paying 100 bucks more for something better that will last longer... at least the bindings which i can use several seasons...

also, if you guys have any other suggestions, please tell me

thankss...

because of you weight you want a full metal binding so i would spend the extra 100 they will last you longer anyways

Get pivot 14s. They are a super durable binding, and they are the exact same as the FKS. They will last a really long time.

I would go with the 14s because unless you are charging huge lines you don't really need anything that goes up to 18.

ill definitely buy the pivot's14 tomorrow then.... but the 14 and 18 are the same construction? all-metal const? i dont think ill be needing dins higher than 14... but if the 18's are better in any way, i might think about it...

any thoughts on buying stuff online? its all good, right?

thanks

what din do you ride? cause the new pivot 18 goes down to 8 i would really suggest that you have a metal toe. if you can fine the fks 15 or pivot 15 they would be perfect for you

the 18 is just a more durable binding with the all metal toe piece compared to the plastic and metal toe piece of the 14. if you want a binding to last a really really long time get the 18, if you want a binding that is still super good but might not last as long and will be cheaper get the 14

ive been using a rossi axial120 or smthing like that on din 7... i think it goes from 4-11 =/

but I didnt ride the park much with those...

you meant i should look at the pivot/fks 14 or 18? you said 15 :p

will i need to change the brakes too? (skis are 83mm) cuz i only find 115mm brakes...

Bindings are the bain of my life, I dunno what to say about those. I do know that I have been using JOYSTICK SAUCE poles this season though and they wee awesome, the grips feel good in your hand and while grabbing, the poles look sick too plus they are just a super legit company run by people who really love skiing.

this, i have the fks 155's (same thing) and they're really awesome and really are bombproof (excluding the brakes my broke pretty easily) i expect to use mine for many years to come. :)

NO.
Don't get Salomons. I have a Solly STH 14 and hate it. So many prereleases.
I would invest Look 14/18's or Tyrolias. I've got some old Look TT's (Turntables) and theyre great, I love them. Release when you NEED it, and otherwise keep you strapped onto your sticks. Tyrolias are dope, and the most under rated binding out there. Mojo 15s are so sick for park. Light, ridiculously sturdy, and 15 din.
Either of those would be great for you. Not to mention the Mojo 15 is on sale for... 144 dollars shipped. THATS a deal compared to the Pivots/FKS.
Gluck

Just bought the Pivot 18!!! paid 330w/ shipping, is that a good price?

about the poles, ill just get some real cheap ones at the local shop.

thanks!

Rossi fks 14's!!! best bindings in the world! and joysticks are sick but really....any pole works. just cut it down or something.

First of all Poles... Rental poles are the shit. They're the most durable pole you can get aside from a race pole. Reason being, not only is it thicker aluminum but they can be bent back to shape if need be. Unless you are a slave to fashion or are looking for an actual technical pole, get rentals. Cheap and Easy!
Bindings: If you can afford them any of the pivot bindings (FKS, Look Pivot, Dynastar Pivot) are all F-in awesome choices, reason being:
1. Shorter mounting point which = a rounder flex for your skis. Which means they'll ski closer to the way they were designed to.
2. Lateral heal release. This means on those downward twisting falls you will be less likely to blow your ACLs.
C. BOMB PROOF... there is a lot of metal in these things especially the 15 and 18 din.
*if you cant afford pivot (because of how proud these companies are) look at the Axial 2. 14 din- 20 din.you don't have the lateral release, but you do have full metal heel housings which make for an incredibly solid binding.
Stay away from Salomon STH and Marker M of Free series-STH- will pre-release over time. The toes of the bindings wear out and do not hold the boot securely. Also, they're are east to break.
Marker Free or M- too efficient... you will pre-release every non-perfect landing you encounter.
These are just my suggestions... take-em' or leave um

stay away from the marker m-series, i pulled off my skis multiple times last year just doing mute grabs with them

hey.. didn't wanna start a new thread..

so, i bought my bindings and they came, they look... different than others lol

how does it work? this turnable heel piece? the dildo that moves up and down, it wont move while im skiing right?

what about the lifters/plates? should i put them? besides that, it works like a regular binding, right? click in and click out by pressing the dildo?

i got a pair of armada AR6's that im gonna mount the bindings, should i true center mount or 2.5cm back?

the guy of the shop said i should 2.5cm back, but i was looking for center mounting them before he said it...

help me out

im noob, yes

thankssss

The 14s and 16s are COMPLETELY different. The 16s are a full metal binding while the 14s are plastic.
