HI Amber Polarized, whats the deal?

Is this the be all and end all lense for flat light? From what Ive heard its similar to HI Yellow but it will still hold up when the sun comes through. Any people here who've tried this lense and can compare to others? Its almost triple the cost of the other lenses so I want to hear some user experiences first.

threads. not sure but i really wanna know this cause i need THE BEST LOW LIGHT LENS thats still sick looking.

For flat light Polarized isn't gonna do shit, what polarization does for you is it reduces glare and refracted light but... in a low light situation polarized goggles actually will cut out more light and actually make it tougher to pick up contrast. My point is that polarization is not for flat light or snowy days, it makes things worse, the color of the lens is going to be what you want try a Pink Iridium or VR50 Emerald. Hope this helps you save some money.

High Intensity Persimmon. Best lens ever, yet I see almost no one with it. Got it on my splices and the difference with flat light is unbelievable. I like it a little better than High Intensity Yellow, even though you cannot beat yellow for flat light only, but once that sun starts poking through a little bit, persimmon gives that edge over yellow.

Any more info on this lens? Feedback, will it do as an all in one lens? How does it hold up in super sunny conditions? :)

from someone who has the lens not a bunch of speculators......

the polarization makes it so the lens can reduce the amount of glare which makes the sun brighter than it actually is. because it reduces glare and not blocks tons of sun, like a dark iridium it makes it much more versitile than those lenses. also it has an irdium coating, which blocks strong sun with mirror effect.

i have a hi yellow lens as well and a grey polarized and i have used most other oakley lenses. i can tell you that this is the most versitile lens that anyone makes. i never use my hi yellow, even in blizzards because i think that is one of the most poor lenses they make, as soon as the sun comes out you are fucked. i find too that even my grey polarized makes me squint more than the hi amber polarized when the sun is super bright, because grey irdium has no iridium coating.

BOTTOM LINE BEST LENS EVER AND WORTH ALL OF THE MONEY, JUST KEEP IT IN GOOD SHAPE AND IT COULD LAST FOREVER!

a polarized lens increses contrast 10 fold. thats why when you use a polarizer on your camera it makes colors more vibrant.

also the fact that its a high intensity lens helps amplify low light. the high intensity amber polarized adds every piece of lens technology into one lens and thats why its 3 times more.

POLARIZATION - blocks glare and improves contrast

HIGH INTENSITY - Intensifies low light situations

IRIDIUM COATING - Blocks intense sun by reflecting it off the lens.

+k

thanks man this was exactly what i was looking for: someone that actually has the lenses to compare and not some speculation :)
