I was wondering if any of you guys know any EFFECTIVE ab workouts cuz the crunches and sit ups aren't helping me tone and i wanna mix it up a bit.preferably any girls that workout? it would be a help. thanks
do burpee's!! stay in a push up position then jump up without touching your knees to the ground then on your way down go back into the pushup position with only your hands and feet ever touching the ground
well i run 3 miles everyday and i dont wanna get bulky from pushups. pilates worked really well for me like 6 months ago but i lost the dvd's and i dont wanna buy new ones haha
what your doing should be helpin dem abs. 6 inches, lay down flat on your back and hold your feet 6 inches from the ground. Leg Swing, Lay in the same position, have someone stand between your head, lift your legs to the person and have them swing your legs in different directions without letting them hit the ground. core, do it up.
uhg the first ones a killer, in lacrosse the whole team has to do it for 1 minute and if anyone drops too low or touches the floor for a second we have to run a lap and ten do it again till everyone does it.
like someone else said, invest in a medicine ball and those big bouncy balls for balance stuff. not only will balance stuff help build a strong core, but you can work with legs and other parts of your body that will help for skiing.
o yea, and if your library has Ski or Skiing magazine, check out some older ones in the back. i'm certain i've seen some a few great core workout programs
what we do for football is called rollouts put two weights on either side of the bar or u can just find a wheel or something with 2 handles on the outside and get on ur knees and push all the way out til u back is flat and ur all the way extended then bring it back to ur knees
pussy....in soccer we have a team of 27 and we all hold it up while 1 person weaves in and out of everybody with the ball. and then we repeat 27 times. or we just do it for 4 minutes straight. makes us really fit and we win most of our games.
you can't really get bulky from push ups. you can get super tone but that really takes hundreds of pushups a day. bulk only starts to get added to your body when you take in extra protein and start adding heavy weights to your work out.
crunches really do work to tone muscles but you need to do pushups along with them. what i do is 50 crunches pulling straight up, 50 to the right side for the right obleque(sp?), 50 to the left side for the left oblique, then 50 pushups. thats one set. from there i'll go down in increments of 5 or 10 depending on how good i feel that day. but just start off with like 20 or so reps in each set and work your way up. this works really well for an all around ab workout. if your lower abs aren't getting as tone as you'd like them to be then just throw in some leg lifts and you'll be set
lay on the ground, stomach down. now, basically just do a push up, but hold it there. and be as close to the ground as possible, but without just flopping down. try and stay there as long as possible. your abs will be killing you after a bit
fuck. screwed up. Put your elbows down, with your arms straight out. then push off the ground with your feet.so your in a real low pushup like stance. it'll hurt, trust me
But if you have any layer of fat over your abs nothings really gonna help until you lose it.
But if not, try planks. Basically on your elbows with your forearms parallel and flat on the ground and up on your toes. Hold that for as long as you can. Then repeat.
another thing to work your core..get a medicine ball and hold it above your head, with a wide stance, then slowly bring the medicine ball down to one foot, bring it back up slowly, never bending your arms. then do it on the other side
and ball crunches, you do crunches well sitting on one of em big yaga balls, have it at your lower back.
wall squats
and laying in plank or whatever it is, like pushup position but your on your elbows and your hands are together, like a triangle. hold that for 30 seconds, do something elts, do that again.
hmm, I'm certaionly no expert, so she may be right,
but if I'm workin' on my abs, I'm trying to stay in plank for at least 2 minutes, really, as long as I can possibly go without puking. Then I'lll do my legs or something, then do different abdominal excercises, such as leg lifts.
