Aggresive all-mountain skier

10% park, 20% groomers, 50% soft snow, and 30% 'Big skis come out time'

I have My Nordica Blowers which get used on powder/soft snowskiing days, but I need soemthign for the park and groomer days. The ski that has currently been in this position was the Scratch BC 04/05 which did a dandy job. But, time occurs and I need a replacement for that. I am currently lookign into Dynastar Troublemaker 182 and Chronic Blend 186. I'd like to keep those as my options but I guess if you have other suggestions? I don't know, keep in mind my selection is somewhat limited. So what do you guys think? Which one would suit me best?

i would definitely go with the chronic blends. they seem to fit your description quite well. i was about to write that because i just skimmed the thread and then re-read it and realized what you already said...

Yo, check out some Moments. Shit's for real!! They are actually made in the USA, Reno to be exact. Not china. And they've got some seriously sick sticks. Check out the reno jibs, they're real nice and should do what you're looking for.

I would honestly liek a pair of Moments, or several other things, but the way thing are looking, I'm not going to have that option. ( for whatever reasons) So I'm only going for stuff I can get locally. And no access to Armada's, and PE's, just no. I don't want them.

What is stiffer, the Blend or the Troublemaker?

I "definitely" would liek a few more opinions on the topic. Right now I'm thinking Troublemaker because they're softer.

I think that you would "like" the Troublemakers alot, but its a tough call. For a more park ski, I would say the Troublemakers, for a more all mountain oriented ski, go with the chronic blends.

Hahahaha, you people suck.

But I'm leaning towards Troublemaker. I'd like something to last a couple of seasons. Which the Line's may not?

Info on Troublemakers for next year? I know they added a little width, but anything else? And I'm guessing the Dynastars will be more durable than the Blends? COrrect me on that one if you can. I'd like to know.

I hear that the TMs scratch really easily, its just cosmetic, but I thought I'd let you know. Also, the chronic blends look dope this year.

Not true at all. I delammed a pair of last years chronics in 10 days. None of lines cap skis since the 1st chronics have been durable. I'd go with the troublemakers, dynastars are the least likely to delam of any ski company. Although they have weak edges and bases.

All the LINE stuff I've ever owned was Cap, and they've all held up really well.

Dynastar isn't the most durable company either man, I'd say Rossi, or Volkl probably makes the strongest stuff...and LINE, in my experience.

i have last years blends. i love them so much. alot of pop, and are a wee stiff, but i could still play around on them. i will admit they are starting to delam a bit. not too serious, nothing that cant be fixed with a little hands on time. they are solid skis and have held up alot better then i had expected to, i am very hard on my skis. i have never ridden any troublemakers so i cant give any advice on them. but my vote goes twards the blends for sure.

kid at my mountain delamed his chronic wides 05-06 pretty damn quick. the tips were just like totally shredded and gone but he duct taped them back together and is still riding them with like no edge and shit.

The blends ARE more durable then the troubles!! I dont know what these people are talking about. I have owned chronics and they were infact "boomproof". A friend of mine had trouble makers (the 05-06 model i think) and he hit a rock and, i kid you not, a 2"by 3" chunk of ski under his boot seriously burst off the ski. I will say that pre05-06 lines were iffy when it comes to durability. and then they had that whole invader problem, which has overall given them kinda a bad rep. But line is awesome, i was riding invaders during the delaminating fiasco and went through 5 piars of invaders, and line gave me new ones every single time, and when the next years model came out they gave me the new model for free. That is why i ride Line. Anyways, I could go on and on with stories explaining my point, but I wont. I will say though that blends and troublemakers both ski very nice. (yes i have skied both, but NOT the 08 blends!!). And you will be happy with what ever you choose. So basically summing up my whole response, the Blends are just as durable as the trouble makers and in my opinion MORE durable.

go with the blends.

I've never had a pair, but i did have a pair of dynastars that are now torn apart.

I would say that the dynastars have much weaker bases and edges.

you are 6'3! my opinion... don't get anything less than a 185! you will stand too tall over other skis. I would also look into something fatter than 85, 90 if you can.  I would personally recomend Seths, another pair of BCs, maybe ARVs, if you like softer skis. Prophets might be good in the prophet 90, but I don't know how well they ski. some people love them.

Looking into smaller companis like moment would be cool too. Moment basically custom makes skis, it's kinda zany.
