Guys, you clearly don't understand this. Danny just doesn't want skiing to go through the same shit that snowboarding is with world cups. He's actually trying to help skiing.
 
Don't we already have FIS issues? It's just something that's bound to happen. It's lousy, but not everything can have 100% positive outcomes.

I think he might actually have a point. That US Free Skiing logo is ugly enough that it makes me want to quit skiing right now.

It's a two way street though. I feel like skiers dislike snowboarding more than snowboarders dislike skiing. Besides taking a couple of remarks made by a few snowboarders out of the majority isn't an accurate representation.
 
a lot of the professional snowboarding community thinks skiing is really stupid. like kutcher said no big surprise here.
 
What about, we hate snowboarders that hate on skiers because snowboarders are hating on skiers? It's a loop. It's not the 90's anymore. Why is there hate?

Its hard to tell what the real motive is behind the comment.

Either Danny is just being the stereotypical 'hating snowboarder' about skiing (which is just as prevalent as the stereotypical 'cocky skier/racer hater'), or is actually trying to defend the newschool feel by being against the formation of a world-cup-like skiing competition.

By the shallowness of the comment, I think Danny is serving the first position I named, which is embarrassing to see. I would like to see the explanation from Danny himself rather than hypothetical interpretations of the comment.

That being said, while you may not participate in the same realm of the sport (snow sports in this example), you should still at least be happy for progress being made in any area towards expansion and growth.
