I need some opinions on how to repair my skis tonight.

My blogs have damage to the top sheet on the tail and a little wood is exposed. (Note that the wood colored area isnt all wood. if you look close theres a light patch of wood.)

I was wondering if i should sand her down and put in either epoxy or ptex.

I want to shred tomorrow.

thanks.

just make sure its dry, and cover it with some epoxy. If you dont have any, just use gorilla glue. it will work just as well and it wont cost as much. Definitely dont use ptex. that would last 2 days at the most

Is it actually wood showing, or is the glass still over it? The glass is probably clear under the topsheet material. But yeah, clean, maybe sand with 60 grit paper or something, then clean more, then apply epoxy.

1. Light sanding over the exposed area

2. Thin layer of epoxy over the exposed area

3. Keep drips of epoxy away from the base

4. Let it dry

5. Buff out extra epoxy if you want to be fancy

I do this a lot and it'll work just fine.

Also, if you don't want to do anything your ski isn't going to explode or anything it'll ride just fine and won't get all too damaged.

i work in a ski shop sand clean epoxy masking tape over the epoxy and if you can clamp it for 24 hours then get a stanley knife and shave the dried excess epoxy off
