Hestra gloves in the PNW

anyone in the PNW ski hestra's that arent goretex or any that dont have the czone liner?

i want to get a pair (henrik windstedt pro model specifically) but im not sure if they will get soaked without the liner here in oregon

i have the seth pros and they're pretty good. the leather feels damp from the outside after a day but my hands stay warm and dry. I wouldn't trust them for a multi day tour but anything short of that and they're bomber gloves. gonna buy a new pair in a few seasons when these ones wear out and i'd recommend them to anyone that has 150+ dollars to spend on gloves.

I don't think you could go wrong with any hestras, especially the higher end stuff.

oh and i ride mt bachelor

Everybody I have talked to about Hestras has said they will use their Hestras for absolutely anything that has to do with saying warm dry or comfortable. Make sure u take care of them wholeheartedly and use the leather balm....might help with the whole damp leather status

I also have the seth's, ride stevens pass, and they have yet to let me down. Very high quality, and very soft/warm.

thanks for the input guys.

the only thing that concerns me is everyone in the PNW i see on here rides with the seth's and I'm not sure how the gloves like these will do without the czone or goretex layers.

you should just get the seth's...or the vertical cut freeride's, I know some people with those that like them.

There is a big anti goretex movemnet growing saying that if the gloves breath well they don't need goretex. The NW Hestra rep doesn't use the czone or goretex ones. I still do.

yea i really like the vertical cut's too, the reason i was looking at that pro model was because its supposed to be extra warm; not sure how freerides will be with their small glove inserts

I just got the seth pros should i apply this leather balm right now (ill be skiing in the east for now probably dry weather.) So should i apply it now or before say a dump or i know i may be getting wet?

I always said I'd buy new Hestras when mine wear out, but after 7 years they still look new. Keep up with the balm and they'll never let you down.
