im thinking about getting one for sheddin some powder snow this season.

does anyone have some and if so post something about it and or a video you make with it skiing or biking or doing something X-treme

thanks.

all three of those edits were sick

im gunna get one thanks

also what types of mounts do you have for yours?

Invest the money and get an HD. The quality is ridiculous. Check out some of the trailers for it on their website. Griffin@Dawn has one, and is going to upgrade to a HD. I suggest talking to him.

idk id rather buy some skis than drop 200 more than i really NEED to on a headcam

i dont have a money printer like you

i was looking into it but i hate the angle the mounts create on the go pro

i got a contour hd off ebay new for like 200 which was so similar in price to the go pro that it seemed worth it

the go pro sits on top of your helmet making it not look as much like a pov but like a midget with a camcorder is standing on your shoulders. it kinda distorts the whole deal and you can't get into it as much imo

the contour and vio sit on your goggle strap or the side of your helmet which puts you at eye level and is the closest you get to it being through the filmer's eyes and imo you experience the whole deal better

the gopro just looks funky, as you could kinda see on the rails in the earlier vid posted

i dunno alex, in the first edit i kinda liked the "midget on the shoulders" look

and im sure you could mod it to fit on the side somehow

but i enjoyed it except for on the rails

and i plan on using it year round and the contour cant go underwater etc like the gopro can in the last edit. and idk if it has the 5mp picture every 2 5 or 10 seconds mode like the go pro.

i think ima stick with the go pro at $130

yeah chest head helmet suction cup for cars and bike is what im gettin

along with a few permeant mounts it gives you

and heres link incase embed failshttp://vimeo.com/5354175

like too much as in i have no job and it would be half the ski season gone before i got the money

and

pretty sick park edit with a gopro wide

not an hd

im fine with the quality of it and the early season pow edit posted towards the top

plus youtube probably slaughtered it

i liked the edits!

did you guys get the helmet package or motosport package? i just got the HD motosport package on ebay, and im not sure if im gonna need to buy another mount for using it on top of my ski helmet, i know its got a side helmt mount i know.

it comes with these mounts:

[*]3 Flat, 3M™ Adhesive Mounts

[*]2 Curved, 3M™ Adhesive Mounts

[*]2 Quick-Release Buckles

[*]1 Vertical Surface “J-Hook” Buckle

[*]1 Suction Cup Mount

[*]1 Three-Way Pivoting Side Arm Assembly

what mounts did you who used it skiing use? i think the suction cup will be perfect for snowmachining

this is b-runge...

but i was also wondering if anyone could give insights into what mounts/straps you need for skiing.

such as the vented helmet strap, is this what you use for helmets? i am very confused on this as to what mounts you need/ use in general for skiing.

and heres an edit with just a regular go pro wide

pretty sick shit

and im now shooting for the HD because it just seems way better and i thought of handheld use also just like a normal cam, never really thought of taking it off the head but id much rather have HD to do followcam park stuff and whatnot.

i have one of the curved sticky things on my helmet.

it seems to be on there pretty strong, but i have a piece of hemp tied to the cam and my helmet just in case.

so you dont use the vented helmet strap?

for example if i get a motorsports one i dont need to buy a vented helmet strap deal?

cuz idk how to even use that one

nope, my ski helmet vents have mesh in them.

the headlamp style thing for it works well too if you arent wearing a helmet.

thank you

none of mine have open vents

can you take those sticky things off?

or do you just leave them on?

and would a suction cup work

cuz the motor sports ones are cheaper so it comes with it

i just got the motosport one, i think itll come with what you need, the curved adheasive mounts, and a side mount on the piciture on the site would be cool if your wearing a full face helmet.

from how i understand it, the suction cup mount is only recommend for cars, motorcyles, or im planning on putting in on my snowmachine. i think because its so hard to release (it would break the camera before it released) that its not recommened for anytime there a risk of you eating shit on a rail or rock or just ice. where as i would think the adheasive mount would rip off before the camera broke.

yeah you can take the sticky things off, but then you cant put them back on with the same sticky part. So pretty much you just take them off if you're selling the helmet or something.

because when i ban myself for study time

i get on it to pm a mod to get me un banned

but that day i got carried away with posting

fuck

cant get the hd anymore....

parents cant afford it for birthday and christmas even if ill pay an extra 100

and im not allowed to get a job during the school year

:(

new question

for just a go pro wide standard def.

can i get any size SD card i want?

or is the maximum really 4 gb?

Here ya go.

And yes, you can have as big of SD card as you want in the standard def. i use an 8gig

can you easily adjust the up and down angle, or would you have to put a new adheasive pad high up if you didnt want it pointed that far down? thanks!

Idk if this helps anyone, but if you have a standard wide this will benefit you lots.

http://www.goprocamera.com/fwupgrade.php

its a firmware update that:

improved auto exposure processing to help in extreme bright lighting conditions (like snow covered slopes),

and you can now record up to 4GB in one file

use SDHC cards up to 8GB

snow covered slopes are what these are used on

and if you ever wanna record for 1 hr 52 min straight you now can.

So I have an HD but when I go to edit, Premier Pro just sees the files as an audio file. How can I convert it without loss of fps or quality so PPCS4 can use it?
