HERES ONE FOR YA SCIENCE WIZZES

ok, so i have a summer rail setup with astroturf, the green kind. i am rebuilding my ramp and putting new turf on and was wondering: is there a certain color of turf that slides better and has less friction? also, what is more slidy: turf or this snowfence stuff i keep seeing in summer edits? also, which is better and less harmful to the base of the skis: snowfence or turf? will the snowfence trash my bases? help me out sherlock and i might just rate you 10/10.

1. No, just get the cheapest color of turf you can find

2. Its Plastic Lattice Fencing to the home depot people, and yes it slides about 3 times faster than turf

3. Turf is marginally less damaging than the lattice

4. No, neither do much noticeable damage even to your wax, let alone your bases

The plastic fencing makes you go much faster than turf, but you don't get any control. Buy any colour of turf, it all works the same, place it on the kicker so you have more control where you need it. So you should have an inrun of fencing and a kicker with turf. Plastic fencing and turf dont damage your skis at all.

make sure when you put your turf on your setup you ski with the grain,

not against it. all i use on my setup is turf/water and it works fine, i buy the turf with the thicker backing, not sure if there is much of a difference between the thicker and thinner stuff though. and

the dimensions of your setup play a role in what type of sliding

material you need to use.

The brownish/grey turf seems to go alittle faster than the green but the greesn cheaper so you can buy more of it for more run up or landing if needed so go with a good solid drop in to not to much flat with a small jump. the flat and jump will make you lose all your speed, put plywood under the carpet and then use just water or if you use soap use the powder kind dont over water and try to get your skis clean.
