evh was technically better, but hendrix was just amazing at the sounds he could make come out of his guitar. plus it was so innovative and passionate. my vote goes to hendrix.

ahh well jimi hendrix had a lot of competition in his days with the beatles and eric clapton (cream) hendrix was the most influencial and technical but eddie van halen was more popular with the american fans so in my opinion i like jimi but.. eric clapton and eddie van halen are a close second

hendrix was god. evh was good, but shred doesnt compare to the music that hendrix made. plus, hendrix played two instruments: the guitar and the wah-wah pedal
