You can get a base repair at most ski shops, it’s not gana look new but it will keep your ski from exploding.

They should use a proper citrus cleaner or something to remove wax so the ptex sticks better, plus a stone grind for the smaller scratches then wax

stone grind and other tools maybe but mostly i just would think/hope they would do a really good job. p tex jobs are pretty easy but mine are...inconsistent because the result reflects how much expertise/care was put into the job haha

a beginner prob wouldn't do a great job and those are some sick new skis so i think it's smart for him to go get the repair done right!

not really, they just have better tools and more experience. they'll have a nice cleaner to remove wax and a cool hot glue gun thing to put base weld and ptex into the core shots
