Helpful skiing tips that you may not know...

do up top buckles first i think, flex into the boots to set your foot properly in the footbed, then adjust bottom straps to personal preference. i normally then crank up the top ones a little bit again but thats just me

when sharpening your edges, wear a ski strap on each wrist. one time my hand slipped and i ended up with a deep gash right next to my arteries, definitely got lucky on that one. but if you wear a ski strap you can avoid bleeding to death in your basement.

Always wear gaiters between gloves and jacket or boots and pants, you dont want a ton of snow stuck next to your body for the whole day do you?

When getting on a fixed grip chairlift stand with your feet ON the red Load Board line. This makes it easiest for the liftie to give you a good bump.

Do the middle buckle (if you have a 3 buckle boot) or 2 middle buckles (if you have a 4 buckle boot) first. these are the most important buckles because they hold your heel down in the boot. from there tighten the top buckle, then the toe. The toe buckle should only have enough pressure to keep the buckle buckled. Any tighter and you are just cutting off your circulation with no benefit.

In addition, use the two finger rule. If you cant buckle a buckle with your index and middle finger, it's too tight.

Put on a ton of sunscreen or you will get a goggle tan and everyone will ask about it like what happened to me. Also what is the solution to black toes/toe bang in my ski boots.

bring your own cup of noodles for lunch. pretty much any resort will give you hot water. you get hot noodles + soup for just 28 cents per meal

unless you have oakleys... I have no idea what they do to their goggles but you can wipe them as much as you want and it won't change a thing...

At the end of the year or whenever your skis will be sitting for a while lower your din down all the way and put a think layer of each on your skis. This will make your bindings last longer and will make your skis faster and better protected.

I use my phone/ipod/mp3 in my pants (screen inwards) that way my battery last a lot longer because it doesn't freeze thanks to my body heat, it has never breaked. If you wear it on outside pockets or any pocket not close to your body battery will last far less. If you wear it on the chest make sure it is on inside pockets near to your body.

take up slacklining in the summer. If you can do it on a slackline, its going to be much easier on a rail.

I learned how to 180 on my slackline and land back on it. It made switchups alot easier and smoother. But it might just be a mental thing for me. Obviously it helps your balance alot, but it also helps alot with core strength and your legs, which is a nice added benefit.

I'm not that brave of a person outside of skiing, so ppl r shocked when i do inverts. I do this by bringing a lot of friends and telling them what trick im gonna try. That way, even if im scared, ive got a commitment to live up to and it helps me try new tricks

Hha my friend had chrome lenses on his ashburys that he just got, the first day he used them it was snowing and cold. We went inside, came out and the lenses were super foggy. He wiped them so hard that they turn into clear lenses.
