GT is right. Go to a park where kids are throwing down, and match their speed into jumps. That makes it a lot easier and safer to learn timing on big hits. Also start small and move up as your comfort level increases, but don't forget to go for it every once in a while. Hard hits are part of life in this sport and we all take them, just know they are bound to happen and learn to crash. other than that, try to ski with people who will push you to do better, and most importantly have fun, good luck.
