I bought an ipod video 30g today and I'm having some trouble with it. I installed all the software, and my ipod is charged up.. but my itunes does not recognize that an ipod is plugged into my computer, even though my computer has recognized the connection. Everything looks the same as it did before I bought the ipod. When I go to my itunes under preferences it says "No ipod connected" while my Ipod is plugged into my computer.

Can anyone help me with my ipod problem?

use the install disc that came with the ipod to install the proper software if it doesn't work. Or your computer won't recognize usb cause its fucked.

I used the software, and I did what you said an still no luck. My computer WILL recognize the ipod. Its the itunes that wont read that its there

ok try re-setting your ipod, you do this by turning the hold on and off 6 times and stop so the hol is off then hold the menu and middle button untill the ipod re-starts and your problem should be solved

delete all the software, start over.

or try just deleting itunnes and then re-installing it straight from the disk...cause you had itunes before you got the ipod am i right?

Just tried that and it didn't solve the problem.

I have also tried deleting all software and trying again and still will not work

you need USB2 and all your problems will go away. 10 times the speed of transfer and a great little item to put in your computer

It says a USB 2.0 port is recommended, but not required. My friend has a standard USB port that isnt as strong as a 2.0 and his itunes still regusters that his ipod is connected.

I know I am just saying you should upgrade to a 2.0 port cuz it is hella faster.

you need to uninstall itunes, reinstall. it took me a few times for some reason to get it recognized also. also try another USB port.

uhh you have a warrenty, its called get another one free... or were u too dumb to get a warrenty?

yea i had the same prblem. my usb wasnt compatible so I convinced my parents to get a beastly computer. even though they could hvae just gottena new usb port or something i bet

yeah exactly, you might have USB 1.0, and i DO NOT think it is compatable. now I have used it on a USB 1.1 and it works. so just get a $20 2-port USB 2.0 and call it a day
