Help with which skis and bindings to get +k for help

I started snowboarding 4 years ago and have wanted to switch to skiing in the last two years just didn't have the money for a setup. Now that I do I need your help ns.

I'm 18 ski in the northeast

6 foot 2 and 190 lb.

Never skied in my life. Want to hit all mountain though.

Assuming a get a quick lesson and some of my friends help me out, what should I get for skis? Bindings? Boots? Thanks ns

As cheap as you can find. Buy some used gear to make sure you like skiing before you spend any serious money

Go get a proper fitting boot first. That's the most important thing.

Then you can get whatever is cheap and learn to ski on that. But the boots are #1.

boots arent about what other people like. everyones feet are different and boots are not forgiving. you dont choose the boot, the boot chooses you (like some harry potter shit haha). please use the advice to go to a decent shop to choose boots.

as for skis and bindings, I think you'll want something from (approx) 177-183cm. Probably on the shorter end of that spectrum (most skis come in a 177, 178, or 179)... you have the size to handle 180+ but it's easier to handle shorter skis when you're beginning. bindings you'll want something with a max din of 12-14, and the shop you get boots from should check your dins on said bindings for free (or at least I think, never been in this situation). I suggest buying one of the many pairs for sale off of here (sell/trade forum) as most will fit those specs I just outlined, and there is nothing wrong with used skis, and itll save a lot of cheese in case you change your mind. you might just like snowboarding better.

I didn't choose the thug life. The thug life chose me lol.

But seriously, buy boots that fit you right. FT is pretty sick but don't buy boots to look cool. People will call you a poser and crap like that (you may or may not care). Get some that fit you perfect. Or rent while you learn to save $$ in case you don't like skiing
