ok so im looking for a ski thatd be nice in powder and would be alright on the park.

i was pretty set on the new bluehouses but im not sure what size to get.

im really short (5'3) and i thought id be ok with the a 164 but i think those might be too short if i wanna ski powder

so im wondering if a 171 would be too long if i got em center mounted?

and i also have a pretty small budget and the bluehouses are a real good deal

What's your weight? That's usually more important than your height because it helps determine how you'll flex and power the ski...

Anyways, unfortunately I have no knowledge of any of these Bluehouse/Moment companies. Right now I'd have to agree and recommend ARV or Kung Fujas. Both are somewhere in the 90+ mm waist category, so both have the dimensions to be fine all mountain. You could also look into some Rossi BCs (or Brigades, or S6 or whatever they called them this year). I have the yellow Scratch BCs and they slay all mountain. I'm pretty sure they make a 171...

If you're looking for something on the fatter side, Pollard rides Lizzies as his park skis. They're pretty damn fat and short, and you in your diminuative size (no offense) could ride them fine. They're really soft and floaty, from what I hear...

Oooh, I forgot about those. They have a medium flex, 100mm waist, so not bad. If you want stiff and skinny you can do Prophet 90. 90 mm waist but stiff as a 2 by 4

the blue houses dimensions are 125/93/120 at 171

and i weigh 120

so do you think a 171 would be alright for me for park and powder?

ok well i figure i could help because last year i was about 5'2 5'3

ok well im guessing your around 13 14 so you probly havent hit your growth spurt so i figure you have 2 options

- get a shorter cheap ski then get a new pair next year IF you grow out of them

- or get a longer ski to last you 2-3 years

if you want to get a shorter cheap ski try to get the juinor model because its usually alot cheaper and still has preformance so something probly around 148 - 153 and then when you grow out of them you have urbans

some skis to consider - rossi scratch brigade pro

- line invader minis

- armada codas

if you want to go with the longer long term option i would suggest something from 158 - 164

skis to consider would be - line anthems/invaders

- armada el rays

- dynastar big troubles

some good places to find skis at low prices tramdock.com evogear.com jibij.com coloradofreeskier.com or check your local shop for 08 skis which will usually be on sale

I'd suggest getting around a 170 cm long ski, give or take 2 cm...

bluehouses seem like they'd be a good match for you. same with boone (check link in my signature), or even moment. maybe the anthems, they would seem shorter since they are symmetrical sidecut, which you would centermount. you're not super heavy so the anthems would work well in terms of jumps, too.

haha no im actually 16 both my parents are really fuckin short

so im guessin i wont grow very much but whatever

i just wonderin if a 171 would be too big if it was center mounted or -1

i kind of want to focus on big mountain but still be able to ski good in park with the same ski, since i live in alaska were gettin 2 grand on friday and im only gettin 500 for ski gear so the bluehouses look real good and cheap i think a 164 wont really do it but a 171 might just be a little too big

If you have the money, get the scott p4, Its a great pow ski and a good park ski, its not super good in park , but its fun because its forgiving and super stable...

i would be careful with that. some ski companies dont say what they really are its fucken weird but like, the 171 anthem is actually a 174 from tip o tail.

$500 bucks for bindings and skis... pay attention.

whats your age?

171 makes sense if you are growing, but if youre like 20? maybe go for a package that is a few seasons old. 5 bills can go a long way if you dig a little bit.

Hahaha, epic fail on my part all over this thread. I messed up with Blends and I'm so used to people having their parent's wallets open with an unlimited budget...dammit. Sorry man, I'm an idiot.
