Help with rails

ok so i can 5050 basicly every rail no problem but yesterday i started trying them sideways.

i can get on no problem but i almost always fall backwards or to the side. anything im not doing/doing wrong? some help would be nice guys. thanx

Just give'r. You gotta stay low bend your knees keep your eye on the end. Just keep your balance and then eventually you'll be able to work your own steeze and some tech tricks in!

yeah, just stay low and bend your knees, wide stance. Just don't be afriad and it will come to you super quickly.

hahaha yeah sorry for the typo i meant flat boxes.

alright so ill try it tomorow.

carry speed keep a wide stance aply my wieght to my front ski and bend my knees a bit

Speed is the key. If you hit something too slow you'll probably wind up getting more hurt than if you hit it going fast. If you feel like you're off balance then just hop off the side, if you're going fast enough you can do that.

You might wanna keep your downhill ski a bit inclined when on the rail (like on the inside edge a bit). Dunno why but it kinda makes it easier at first. So don't keep it flat on the rail especially if it's a down rail. For most people boxes are easier when they're just starting because it helps with the balance (since you're riding on a wide surface). I personally like rails better.

Rails are a lot easier for me. Especially round rails. I can balance on them a lot easier and they slide much faster than boxes. It also makes spinning on/off easier for some reason, if you land a little awkward you can usually reposition yourself or just jump off real easy. With boxes it's a lot harder.

Also I'd definitely hit the boxes or rails with a gap up to them. Ride-on stuff, believe it or not, is harder for skiers. With gap-on stuff I can spot my landing and feel much more in control because I can land where I want. They way they build the jump on makes it near impossible to not get enough height to get on the rail if you're going fast enough.

dont go faster than you want to fall at, but come in hot. hit the lip at the right/left side of the rail/box. if you carve into it a little, you wont have to spin as much. keep your feet shoulder width apart. keep your eyes on the end of the rail/box until you get there. once there spin out so you can ride away with steeze. i personally like riding out switch because its easier to finish out the spin.

think of yourself as an isoceles triangle. the wider the base, the harder it is to fall over, right? that means wide and low stance is crucial. remmeber to keep your bases flat and your weight on the front ski. look at the end of the rail, and before you know it you will be there.
