figure out what your doing wrong, if your opening your club head, or if your not looking at the ball. have someone look at your swing personally

slice is to the right correct if so before you swing move your club head so the ball is closer to the shaft if its still not workin then move your right foot back about 2 inches or so that should help to if not then you need help if a slice is to the left just try and brush your arm against your thigh on the follow through thats what i got for ya i hope it work and good luck

i always tee up the ball with the ball alble up and look at that the whole time, it usually works...but deff just try opening the face of ur club

yeah dude it would be a lot easier to see your acuall swing to tell you whats wrong, try keeping your head down throughout the whole swing.

yeah it's pretty damn hard to explain how to correct a swing unless you can see it. There is so many different things that could be wrong. Take a 1 hour lesson, thats prob the best way to correct what you are doing wrong.

remeber even if you bring it down to an 80% swing, the club will still put the ball out there. just look for contact.

well keep your arms stragith, then push your arms out instead of coming across it, and keep a stronger grip, maybe a little bit open. if you cant cure it, at least try to make it smaller and just pay for it

you probably have an open club face @ impact. Work on that and coming straight down to the ball not from inside to out. And follow through is very important too. don't just let go and wrap around. push out towards the target. another thing to think about is to point your belly button at the target at the finish. I dunno. I have had a bagillon lessons... and am pretty sick.. but it'd be hard to put a finger on your swing unless I saw it in person.

a really easy way is to angle for front foot more, instead of having it parellel to the ball as much.

and you might not be getting enough power with you club, so your getting behind the ball

your grip is probably too weak (ie: your right hand is rotated to far to the left/toward the target).

slices are caused be swinging 'outside-in' creating the slicing spin by coming across the front of the ball.. practice trying to get an 'inside out' swing.. you may get duck-hooks at first, but you'll eventually develop a draw ball flight which is generally more desirable in the long run.

You might have a really tense swing that causes you to have an awkward contact with the ball. When I tense up, I sometimes hit too much under the ball and slice real bad. All I do is reposition, relax shoulders, relax grip. Line yourself up again, and take a few relaxed practice swings. If you work on making solid contact with the ball rather than trying to beat the shit out of it, it'll most likely go farther and cure your slice. A lot of times people slice when they are overhitting the ball. What clubs are you having this problem with, or is it with all of them?

If its only with one or two clubs, practice hitting those more so that you become more comfortable with them. I'm no pro, but that's what I've got from my experience.

if this is with your driver and you have graphite shaft thet is almost like rubber... when you make contact with the ball the club will be facing in the direction of a slice. try angleing the club inward, or move the ball further up twoards your front foot.

slice is usually caused by too much open lower hand on grip of club, hence the club head is too open so

try closing it up.

Stress will get you nowhere,

yeah do that, also try untieing your left shoe

take your 9 iron, or PW...stand with your back to where you want to hit the ball (so the ball is lined up beside you). Swing as you normally would (to the extent possible). Focus on turning your wrists over.

Also, try and slow your swing down a bit. If you try and hit the ball too hard, the club head can't keep up.

The troll stole my Santa!

alright for a slice, the most likely cause of it is because you're coming over the top at the beginning of your downswing. what you should concentrate on is when you go on your backswing, at the top of it you want the club cutting your shoulder if you were to look at it in a mirror, and then stay on that exact same path on your downswing. this probably doesnt make since here to anyone but me.

THANKS GUYS... I TRIED EVERYTHING, AND IM GOLFING LIKE A PRO NOW. I HAVENT PUT A DRIVE INTO THE WOODS OR SLICE IN LIKE 6 ROUNDS. My problem was that the ball was to close to my back foot... and the main problem was that my backwing was monsterous. I was trying to get so much whip that i was spinning my body at contact, causing the face to open. SO with striaght arms, proper foot positiioning, and not trying to kill it... im punching them out there now like 250-275... so thanks again .

I didn't read anyone else's response so maybe this was already covered, anyway I used to have a nasty slice. I cured it by rolling my wrists as I came through the ball. If your wrists are in the wrong position you'll make contact with the ball with the club face open, hence the ball going right. The key is to do it just right, otherwise you'll come to far through and end up hooking it.

Now that I think about it, maybe this isn't the best advice because now I hook the fucking ball all the time. fucking golf godamnit!

Hit like a thousand ball with your feet together so you're shoulders get really good so its not like swinging with your whole body. It works super well

there's so much shit that could be wrong, you have to actually see yoru swing to tell anything all i know is my golf swing has gone to hell lately soo.............

...........

good to see that you fixed it, my guess is that it was the position of the ball. i used to have that problem but my dad helped me out. i also have a big backswing but i can usually get it out there straight so i dont think it was that much of a problem. how was the course?

you gotta get a bone so then you gotta have your arms straighter and that will make the ball fly straight.

i was to lazy to read the whole thread, but it could also be ur clubs...if u have a fast swing and very flexible clubs, ull tend to slice the ball

'....a ninja skier probly came by and whacked him with his pole.... thats my guess' -nordas-

you are slicing because you are opening your golf club head, and hitting that ball at an angle making it go to the right, if you are a righty. To cure this, make sure to keep your thumbs straight and keep your club speed up with your hand speed.

Now please excuse me, i gotsta get my tree fed.

Most of these replies don't seem to be correct, at least the first 5 that I even gave a chance. Though it MIGHT be correct that you are openning your clubface like they are saying, a slice can be caused by many things. The MOST LIKELY for the average golfer, however, is their swing plain.

When you bring the club back, you rotate your shoulders...if you stop at the peak of you backswing, the club should be centered in the middle of your chest. On the way down, drop your right elbow towards your side....this is producing a swingplain that is inside-out. An inside-out plain makes a draw. This is not easy to do for most people, however. If you aren't drawing it with that plain, it means you are leaving your hands open at impact, or bailing out with your left shoulder. good luck dude.

cheers.

We'll have you dead pretty soon.

im shooting 80's constantly now at my home course ... like ive lost 10 stokes a round... atleast... thanks guys
