Help with describing a -2 mounting point on Scratch FS WRS to online store

I'm ordering my skis online in a few minutes and I need to describe to the store what -2 from true center means. (I've already searched)

I'm sure they understand how to find the exact middle of the ski and measure back 2cm for a mounting point, but I've heard too many stories of people getting their skis back and they are mounted incorrectly.

Can someone let me know how far forward of modern is -2cm, untracked.com is saying that the core center point is +7, but I don't know if that's +7 from standard or +7 of modern

Does Rossignol consider core and true center the same thing? (I read in a previous post that they do). I'm used to K2 using both terms as two distinct spots.

Thanks for the help

The reason I'm doing this is because they'll mount and tune them for free...This would save me about $40...which I think is well worth any type of risk.

Any Rossi skiers out there that can help?

oh, and also - they haven't asked me "what is true center" or anything - so there's a chance they have a clue what they are doing - I'm just trying to prepare for the worst.

i wouldn't say its worth the risk of having to drill a second number of holes in your skis when you could have prevented it.

alright, assuming it's the dumbest decision in the world to have them mount it - doesn't matter to me...only thing that matters is if someone knows how far forward -2 from center is from the modern line.

when they were mounting my foils this question came up

i said call salomon and they will help you out

and they did!

I have a brand new pair of 181 FS WRS sitting in my room right now. The middle of the red R (rossi symbol) on the ski is cord centre (true centre) - I measured them now just to check. I'm going to mount at running length centre which will probably be -1 to -2 (not measured that yet).

So to answer your actualy question, true centre is +6.5cm from Modern. So you want to tell them +4.5.

Maybe you should have a little more faith in certain, reputable online stores - I know I do now, especially with the money back guarantee I got if anything didn't line up correctly with my order.

The skis arrived perfectly mounted at -2 from true center and my boots fit without a problem. Just want to give another thanks to www.aspenskiandboard.com for hooking me up. They had great prices on the FS WRS and Rossi bindings and the skis were mounted, tuned and shipped for free. I received the skis 4 or 5 days after ordering.
