Help with computer RAM. +karma

So I have 1GB of PC2-4200 (533MHZ) RAM currently in my computer and it's really not enough since Vegas is soon going to be installed.

My question is; is there really that much of a differece between 533 and 800MHZ RAM speed?

Should I go for 3GB of 533 RAM or 2GB of 800MHZ RAM?

And yes, my computer and mobo support all those types of RAM

I use final cut express and I only have 2 GB or ram. It runs fine and I don't really notice any lagging. So two gb will work fine, but three will probably make it run a little faster.

Okay so last question.

Would you go with 3GB of 533MHZ memory

or

2GB of 800MHZ memory

The fastest his mobo takes is 2gb DDR2 800, its a shitty one that came with a prebuilt I presume.

And to the thread creator, make sure you put one stick in a blue slot and the other in the corresponding black slot, and you will be golden. Whatever you do, dont pair it with your old ram, because there is a chance it is clocked lower, and it will force your new ram to run slower as well.
