So i'v decided to color/spray my pink electric goggles Black. this does not include the lens, duhh

Thing is, will a simple black rust preventing car spray work as a coloring spray that wont peel off? I tested it on cardboard and it seemed to be a nice type of black.

Would i need a plastic primer before i spray this or a normal black spray paint on?

i would try it on a bright color rather on cardboard... try to match the base color with plastic so you can see the true color. the black will appear different on a goggle and cardboard... i hear people using RIT dye to dye their goggles rather tan painting there are many thread saying how to de your gogs i would give that a try.

spray paint will get scratched off regardless even with primer, You can try it but it will most likely get peeled off by the end of the season.

Paint your goggles whatever color with normal spray paint then buy spray on waterproof polycrylic spray paint. The polycrylic just gives it a waterproof protective coating on the outside and it will most likely not scratch off if you spray the whole entire frame of the goggle. I would recommend "minwax polycrylic"

or you could just dye them.

Doesn't rust protector have some kind of chemical in it that would harm the plastic of your goggles? Regardless, spray paint peels. Do what others said, dye them if possible.

Yeah thats the stuff, I've used RIT to dye lacrosse heads, which are made of a similar plastic to goggle frames. The guys who dyed their Full Tilts all used RIT dye.

i've dyed two goggles with this. It will work fine man. Just follow the directions and leave them in there for awhile and they'll turn out great!

Rit dye will dye anything. I have heard of people doing stuff from xbox controllers to ski boots, it will definitely work on goggles.
