Help with Boots and Bindings?

I plan on getting a twin tip ski for this winter. I am thinking the Line Chronic or the K2 Public enemy, cause they appear to be well liked, and not to advanced (cause i am still new to freestyle skiing). But I am most likely getting the board by itself, So what type or boots and bindings should i get? There is so many different types and specifications for each, i am kind of in over my head, but i do know that they have to be FAIRLY CHEAP. I dont need the most technologically advanced stuff out there. If you could tell my what type of binding or boot i need, or even some help with distinguising between whats what, that would be great.

Also.. I am about 160 pounds, 5 foot 11 inches.

get to a bootfitter to decide on the right boot for you - nobody on this website will be able to recommend the right boot for your foot type, and having a correctly fitting boot is very important to your overall skiing.

Bindings are less important, you could look at something like a Look PX12, or maybe even a 3-10DIN binding if you aren't too aggressive and want to save some money.

But save some money and get to a good bootfitter man, you won't regret it.

Boots will last you the longest out of all your equipment, so do it right.

Fully agreed.

A great fit is key for a boot.

Bindings are pretty inexpensive if you shop around, and if you're patient. Look px12s are solid, will last, and you can usually find them for around $100 (occasionally cheaper) if you really hunt.

Whichever binding you choose to purchase won't matter.... unless it's one of the old markers, in that case stay away from those. Any kind of boot will function properly with whichever binding you choose to mount on your new spiffy skis.

yup. dont even bother spending the money on the skis. plan on spending a GOOD amount of time at a couple different shops trying on boots. Dalbello makes a ton of reallllly good boots, and they are priced very well. the krypton series is very well liked. a less expensive, wider fitting boot would be the rave or proton series, it all depends on your foot. Salomons tend to fit well, but also tend to be a lil more money (i still like dalbellos alot more tho). other really good brands id check out are Nordica, Head, and Lange. Personally, id recommend staying away from technica, as i feel they just dont work very well. the flex in all thier boots is linear, with a hard stop-block. it equals bad shinbang.

as for skis, id save some money, and go with something like a silencer. its a very fun little ski, last years can be had dirt cheap, and they are imo more fun than PEs, which tend to be heavier. also, if your interested, i could hook you up with a literally brand new pair of 177 4frnt STLs from last season (skied once or twice, but literally no damage whatsoever, looks and feels brand new), with Salomon z12tis. PM if your interested in that deal. the STL is an incredibly fun and lively ski, really light, and they charge hard everywhere, park to all mountain. for what your looking to spend on PEs, you could have a full pkg thats way better.

as for bindings, id strongly recommend getting on ebay and snatching up a pair of older look/rossignol P10/P12 binders. they are much nicer than the new PXs, and can be had cheap. salomons are usually a pretty good choice, tyrolias are ok. the onese to stay away from are Markers. the Jester and Duke are nasty, but the regular ones suck dick.
