Help with bike cliff

so i built this little 3 foot drop off a cliff for my bike. Whenever I tried to hit it, I kept wiping out and eating shit completely. The rock that i built it on is not that big so I will normally have 1 tire on the rock and one off.

Any ideas or help on how to jump this cliff.

are you going over the bars because you're burying your front wheel?
try getting more speed and when your front tire hits the lip, give one hard pedal stroke and pull up on the bars to get the rear wheel underneath you and then when the back wheel comes off the lip get off the seat and set it down before the front hits

make sure you hold the front break in the air. it will keep your front wheel from spinning and throwing you off balance. as you land you should have all of your weight forwards, over the handlebars and be pedaling to absorb the impact. another alternative (though I do not recommend for larger bike cliffs) is to hit the cliff while sitting on the seat and putting your legs out to absorb the weight of the gravity fall.

haahha. Word.

Dude, 3 feet...more speed? lean back?

Make sure that you're controlling your bike, not the other way around?

usually i would laugh and agree, but im in a wierd mood.

first thing = bad

second thing = bad.

practice dropping off of a high curb with your rear wheel landing first then do the same thing with this drop except make sure you keep your weight back when landing.

haha im way too tired, and i just ended up being so confused at how i could have possibly been doing it wrong all these years, and was pretty impressed that people were able to land pedaling. but then i laughed

ok thanks, these tips should help, especially the one to keep my weight forward. Truthfully, i think the problem is that i pull up on my handlebars too early and then my back tire hits the rock while my front one is in the air. then i just eat shit.
