Help! - Which skis should I buy?

Yes, another "which skis should I buy" thread...

So here it is, I weigh about 125 pounds, I'm about 5 feet 6 tall and I ski on the East Coast... I'm looking for a good all-mountain ski (I'm a good all-mountain skier) but still want something nice enough for me to progress in the park with ease. I'll ski let's say 60% of my time out of the park and 40% in it. I previously owned a pair of old 163 cm Atomic Tweaks (my first twintips) with the old and heavy Atomic bindings. They were real too heavy for me so I'm looking for a lighter setup, but with enough stiffness to go all around the mountain and enough flex to get better in the park.

I was thinking of the Line Chronics Blend, or Prophets 80 or 90 ...

My budget for skis + bindings is under 700$ CAN.

Have any suggestions? Thanks in advance...

armada AR6 171! good all mountain, good park, perfect flex for you.

as for your previous suggestions, which i believe are inferior in this situation to the ar6, i think the chronic blend would be much, much better for you than the prophet 90. prophet 80 is out of the question, it's super stiff and it's too narrow to be a powder or big mountain ski anyway, which is why it's stiff..

next years chronic are sick. new dimensions, new construction, everything. i liked this years graphic more though. next years is sick too though.

Na man, do you realise how light this person is for his height? he's 167.6cm tall and weighs 56.6kg...

I'm skinny and I'm 4cm taller and I weight 71kg...

171 would seem clunky to him.

166 would be perfect.

well if hes gonna grow 171. 171 will last like at least 2 seasons whereas 166 will last only one i would think.

if this kid is old and isn't growing then yeah, 166. but if hes growing i would say 171 because its the middle of the summer and if he grows like 2"-3" by the end of the season 171 will be perfect.

but you're right, at this second 166 would be better, but if hes going to grow 171

^I just turned 17, I'll probably grow a little more, the doctor said I'll be about 5'8

The AR6 seem right are they good enough for steeps and glades (kinda Jay Peak style)?

Wish I could edit posts:

And for the bindings, I was thinking about some Looks since they are light ... I just don't like their butt raping toe-piece

They're plenty good enough.

And ya I have Look bindings on my 176 AR5s, wouldn't have it any other way ('cept AR6s maybe)

I thought doctor phil knew everything?

But seriously, the AR6 would suit you perfectly, and considering your weight, the flex would be great. But you already knew that didnt you.

you mean heel? I have yet to revieve anal penetration from mine. They are a great binding, and hold you in well. I wouldnt worry about getting stabbed by them. you would have to fall directly down behing your boot to gte it up the ass

I mean heel yeah, I'm kinda tired ... I had my after prom party yesterday ...

And what about the Rossi Scratches?

a good fit is like up to 3" above your hread to 4" below your head (4" shorter than you)

it's personal preferance within these sizes. personally i like from my height to 1.5" shorter.

I'm just bumping this one last time...

Considered my weight, would ARVs be better if want a ski that has more all-mouintain capability than the AR6... I've heard the ar6 were weak on carving and ice skiing ...

the arv's are softer but are amazing, only thing is a 165 arv is gonna be way small id recomend the 175, because of the flex you would definitly be able to handle it, especially if you want it to be an all mtn ski also, im 5'8 130lbs and ive ridden 185cm skis and ridden them fine, you would be able to handle the 175 arv i think

One great thing about Armada skis is that all their different length skis are made proportionately equal.

For example, 176 is going to be slightly narrower than a 181. I don't think there's ANY other companies out there doing this for all dimensions (correct me if I'm wrong)

looks aren't light. they're 2.7 lbs. per binding. id reccommend fks 120 from sierrasnowboard.com since they're only 2.3 lbs. plus they're super durable and safe. if you're only concerned with weight id say salomon z12. they're only 1.9 lbs.
