Help! Wax Advice

Okay ya, Im retarted no need to rub it in. Normally I just get my friends to do it for me because Im lazy. But I just waxed my skis for the first time. Unfortunatly the wax I used was yellow (I thought it would be all good because it was perfect for the conditions i would be skiing in) But yea, yellow wax on the white bases of my head mad trix. Yea so right now the bottoms of my skis look like theyve been pissed on. How do I get my skis back to normal color? Would I just need to re-wax them with a white wax? hahaah thanks for your help guys. (serves me right for being a lazy ass)

 
just tell people it's specifically designed mad trix model for u! haha... i would just ski it off.. don't bother scrapping it off

did you hot wax skis? you put hot wax on, then let it cool, then scrap it all off. Pretty simple shit, I think I've known that since 4th grade.

i used to use PAM and spray it on my bases, it worked like mad but only for a couple of runs

Yea I hot waxed the skis and scraped it off. Theres just that wax thats in the pores of the skis thats stained it yellow. Eh oh well,

 
What kind of wax did you use? I have waxed tons of pairs of skis with white bases, and I have used yellow, orange and blue wax and I have never noticed a color change.

it tepends if I the wax is the stuff thats sitting on top of the base then it can be scraped off but I wouldnt be surprised if some of the yellow waxed got absorbed into the white base wax. So you might have perminetly turned em piss color. It dosnt matter though

 
are you sure you scraped enough off, lots of people dont realize that you have to scrape untill you pretty much cant scrape any more, i wax my mojo's with a blue cold temp wax and when im done there is no color differance.

I used to do the queer little rub on deal and it sucked the big one. Now I am getting an iron cuz it really aint that big a deal, uh hick. My momma told me that in Alabama they used candle wax and why couldnt I, so I told her to go to helll and I punched her in the mouth.

candle wax will not work.... someone told me it wont slide at all

I had some guy bring his skis to me to get them waxed becuase he used candle wax, and could not scrape it off cuz it was almost a centimetre thick. That stuff is a bitch to scrape too.

a nice scrape and buff would do the trick. but most people dont know how to wax skis properly.

you can go to your local ski shop and they should have a class or they can tell you how to wax your skis and what you need to do it. Stone grinding is the way to go

 
An electric sander will work, it's much faster than scraping too. You just have to be careful not to go to heavy on it and to do it evenly.

DONT sand in off DUH it just makes the bottom rough and crappy. If you go to a ski shop that sells wax, they probably sell WAX REMOVER, it is kind of like paint thinner, I know swix makes some, and it gets your bases clean, I use it almost every time I wax my skis to clean the base off good first.

If you guys need a good cheap wax iron, go to goodwill. I have found two of em there that are travel irons with no holes in the bottom. Got em for $1.99 work just as well as my friends $50 toko wax irons

i have an old iron that i found in my basement and it has holes in the bottom. the holes dont do anything to your base or the wax your putting on them. the only reason people say not to use ones with the holes is because wax collects there and then can ruing clothes if you iron with the same iron. but seriously, who irons clothes with the same iron they use on their skis/
