help w/ icon making on paint...

when i try to make an icon on paint, it says i cant use a bitmap imagte, but when i convert it to jpg its too big and on gif its to retarded lookin. now some of the icons i have seen that people have made here come out perfect looking..

help?

on photoshop you have to give your serial number. what does that meen?

How do you get an icon into the icon limit. Like i tried some from badassbuddy.com and it wouldn't let me do it because the file was too large. Any ideas on how to make it smaller?

to prevent stealing photopshop you have to register it with a serial number to prove you payed for it. Some downloads of it come with a serial number in a readme file. You can use a key generator or use www.serials.ws. i think thats the site.

i think there's a txt file with the serial number. its really easy to do through Kaaza. its how i got photoshop cuz im not gonna drop 500 or so on a program
