Hey dood -

I went to CU, now live in Burlington.

I say CU all the way. Hotter Chicks, better weather, much better skiing. Also, it is a better school with real sports and shit. They also have a pretty good film program.

I considered uvm, but really, there is no competition.

Yeah dude you are condidering Vermont and Colorado here... while colorado is still a pussy state for a west coast one its defiantly better than any east coast state.

west coast?? what the hell are you talking about? colorado is land locked. i'm at cu right now just finishing freshman year. if you're not into studying your ass off, then don't do the business school here. film is a good program as well. i was in aerospace but am switching to kinesiology next year. i've lived here all my life so going up i-70 every weekend doesn't bother me. i'm pretty used to it. plus, a condo in copper makes me spoiled. the drive isn't as bad as people make it seem. you just have to know your way around when traffic is bad. eldora shouldn't even be counted in the ski resort list. parties here are second to none, and they are everywhere. you should never complain about not being able to finding a party in boulder on any given night. housing is a bitch and expensive, too. however, you can find pretty good deals in lousiville which is about 5 minutes away. the campus really isn't that big. i can walk across it in about 10 minutes. overall though your school choice is really a personal preference. just gather the facts then decide what you want.

don't go to UVM. i live 15 mins away from it and there are a lot of hippies there...i would go to the west, unless of course, you want to be sitting next to smelly girls in lectures

i got into both and i chose uvm because of money, but colo is much better skiing than vt and cu has a film major...uvm doesnt. so if your interested in real skiing and film go to cu

yea man id def pick CU over uvm, granted uvm is a pretty damn good school and all, the skiing around here isnt all that great unless you wanna drive several hours to any big mountain, for example okemo is prob 2 hours, killy is like 1 1/2 sugarbush is about an hour, stowe is about 45, so yea...id go to CU

um..well i had that choice also and i picked UVM. stowe and sugarbush are both 45 min away and both of those mountains kick ass. sugarbush had a better park than stratton this year.

and i dont know how you can say CU has hotter girlseither i was pretty amazed when i went to uvm

w.m.h

im going to uvm next year. i considered CU, but i realised that i really dont want to be too far from home. 4 hours is plenty. plus you get a month off for christmas break, where you can always go out west and ski. uvm ski club also has 2 trips west each year, one for winter and one for spring break. burlington is such a dope town too. plus jay peak is...uhmmm..almost like a shitty west coast resort.

My Man hit up CU like none other, i will be going next year as well. I was also accepted to UVM, U of Denver, UNH, St Lawrence. But hell no, im going to Cu and looking to have a great time, you also have to remember that CU in reality has very good academics but those are often overlooked because of the schools hardcore party scene and rep. As for distance, im east coast and cant wait to start my life out west, im looking forward to it, and the way i see it, i wont ever being moving back east again.

Peace

definitely hit up CU, I was in the same boat last year. I'm from Connecticut, and the weather here is incomparably better then it is out east. Skiing is just head and shoulders above, and there are so many more hot chicks here. UVM is full of hippies, granted some are cool, CU is just flooding with hotties everywhere.

And at CU your gonna be a mile high, and your gonna love it.

I go to St. Lawrence but was very very close to going to CU....from all my buddies that go there, it sounds like it can't be beat. Go CU unless you wanna be closer to home.

-

I meant a western state, whatever lizziebeth you got the point there was no need for you to be a bitch. And yeah i guess CU is alright if you want to party alot with hippies, but if you want to ski alot go to a different state like utah

i was faced with the same predictermine last year, i choose UVM. i'm from ct so travels not bad, and the east is where it's at nucca, yeah, parties and broads are probably way better out in boulder, but the scene is cool in b-town. i'm not making any promises, but sugarbush is talking to mike and lev about a siver/line sponsored park that should be the hot shit. in closing, i dont knwo man...i'm still trying to make the decision, good luck

uvm id say if ur into drugs. and hippies..... and its a pretty good school i guess to. and burlington is a dope city, as much as it probably doesnt seem to be.

there's a reason its called snowboarding......it's snowing!!!

-dumbass xgames anouncer

now the only thing to make my life complete is to turn ur face into a toilet seat.....im gonna piss on it.

dspin, if you thought before you spoke i wouldn't have to be a bitch.

looks like CU is better, even though mounatins by UVM are shittier, they are closer.

beware of

Alpine ASS

ski shop in EA NY because:

the owner took my ski pass from KB,

had me escourted off KB property

tried to press charges against me

if you see him tell him togo to hell

AK skiis are sick

if it helps

I am not super into drugs or partying or hippies

I want to ski sometimes during the week

how often do buses go to sugarbush, stowe and others?

How often do buses go to breck and keystone and others?

either place, you are going to want to get either a car or friends with cars.

Then, you hook up your classes so you have no class on Friday. Or no class on tuesdays and thursdays. At cU I was able to get one or two weekdays open for skiing during the spring semester. That=key.

Seriously, way more hippies at UVM - it's like still really popular to be a hippy in Vermont. Lots of drugs and parties both places - but you don't have to get into that. Way hotter girls in Boulder.

And the weather difference is huge. Skiing in Vermont is often done in below-zero weather for January and February. There really is no reason to debate this.

obviously most of the people that say uvm has lots of hippies dont go here. there's just a large amount of posers with trust funds. the dread locks to kakis pants ratio is like 1 to 100, this school may not be racially diverse at all, but i've never seen some many differnt kinds of white people. and you dont have to be into drugs bro, if you want to be able to ski on the weekdays, take lots of classes the fall semester, then a light loaad in the winter and schedule around a couple days, the mountains are easy to get to.

theres shuttle busses that go right from uvm to the mountains every weekend. not sure about weekdays. it probably happens. yeah mad trustafarians in burlington. but not many more than anywhere else. if you can't deal you probably shouldnt be goin to college anyways.

don't listen to wntrwill. he is a sell out. :)

the way that i see it burlington and boulder are pretty much the same... chill people.. hippies.. lots of weed.. but colorado does have better skiing so i would say go there. but then again i wouldnt say go to either school because you will be paying off student loans untill you are 60 with the tuition you pay there. im sorry but no education is worth 30 g's a year... its all about just getting your degree....

'..I am like what the f--k are you talking about. I am a skier..' -eric pollard

just consider this,

you;re moving out and away from your current life.

when shit hits the fan and you actually do need your parents, a place to run to, or anything, will you be able to handel these situations on your own?

just having graduated school, i want to put this out there. I saw way to many kids puss out after their first semester. just have a talk with yourself and think things through, you can allways transfer.

sure, theres the skiing aspect of things as well, but to the moron who said fuck college and go skiing, what the hell are you going to do with your life? do you realize how much ski time you have while in school? i averaged over a 100 days a year, got a 3.0, had a rad internship with the best company in skiing and dont remember a damn thing cause i was piss wasted the whole time,

fuck college, what an asshole.

im that moron. i dont see the point in wasting time and money at school when i dont know what i want to do knowing ill end up with some shitty liberal arts degree. oh yeah...cu all the way, burlington sucks ass and is filled with either hippies or rich kids who go there and try to be hippies for the most part, atleast thats what i got out of it.

Give me Keystone or give me death.

I would go to boulder, as the other dude said, YES, the women are hotter. The skiing is infinitely better...cmon dude, it's a different animal. And the cold in vermont is COLD. Boulder may be a better school, I really have no idea. And while Burlington is a cool city, I bet there is a LOT more going on, especially on campus, at Boulder.

We'll have you dead pretty soon.

either way you are going to get to learn and ski, so enjoy.

colorado. I live in vt and the skiing is so much worse than colorado. but it is hardcore, so I suppose you could go to uvm and be like im hardcore. o and by the way why wasnt there a big 420 smoking thing out there this year?

Jesus saves!

Gretzky gets the rebound. he feeds the puck to LeClair. he shoots! he scores! the crowd goes wild

there's a big 420 thing on farrand every year.

and about the busses, there's a ski bus that goes every saturday from cu to either keystone, vail, or copper on different weekends. there might be other places but i'm not sure. i never rode it. it's $7/trip. you probably never have to ride it though because you can always find people on campus with cars that are way more chill and better at skiing.

the 420 thing is a thing of the past at uvm. the way the country is going, it is no longer cool to protest laws or speak your mind. maybe thats not it, but i do know that the campus officials said absolutly not. who needs to be around all those jobless losers anyways.

I'm going to UVM as well next year. What sold me was its size, big enough to still have a million things to do, but small enough that your education will have a personal feel. They are both pretty good schools, in real chill towns, but CU seemed too big for me. If you want Film then definatly CU, but for business I would say its up for grabs. Just go with your gut feeling and I'm sure you'll enjoy either.

Beaver Creek is the farthest away at like an hour and 3/4, copper is next and like 10 minutes closer, vails a little over an hour and a half, breck is like an hour twenty, keystone is a little closer (10min or so) A Basin is a little over an hour, and eldeeznuts is like 30 minutes away. Winter park is like an hour and a half or 2 i think as well.

my sister is freshman at CU this year, and she loves it. i live in the east, and the west is better than the easty in every way, better snow, better parks, and powder everywheres. u can find a house around boulder for rent, if u share rent it isnt too too bad. and the weather in boulder is soooooo fuking nice, its always sunny.

eldo doesn't really have a park. it's pipe is fun to ride wednesday nights but that's about it.

will was wrong. copper is closer to boulder than vail by about 15 minutes. basically, everything good is about 2 - 1 and 1/2 hours away.
