Hey everyone,

Let me paint a picture that I am sure is familiar with

many of you: Here I am staring at a blank Word document, trying to rack

my brain for ideas, when I had a genius one, NS. So here I am, and I

figured maybe some of you could help me.

So here is the prompt:

There is nothing more frightening than ignorance in action. -Goethe (Prepare a response)

I would greatly appreciate any ideas you might have to offer.

Blake

just make up some bullshit story about how someone shows ignorance in everyday life. bullshitting is the key in these types of assignments

except this assignment is worth more than $20,000 b/c it's one essay for the presidential scholarship at montana state

I agree, the topic is pretty straightforward. There are a lot of ways to go with it. I can think of a bunch, organizing them would be the harder part. Try coming up with some stuff then make an outline. If you can't do that then..

hell fuckin yes

like henry rollins says "everytime he opens his mouth it gives me a subject for a joke"

guys a shithead

Hate ta say it but your not gonna get much help for that on here. If this contests so pretigious or whatever you should probably be able to think of some good ideas if it's worth 20000 and you think you deserve it.

y?

i think you mean...WHY

thats the proper spelling. this isn't aol here

and the why of it is cuz george bush is suckin it up as a president and as long as hillary doesn't replace him, any of the nominees could do a better job than bush

you could also use all the people in this thread who are saying to use bush. arguing that they dont know what its like to be president.

Then of course you could use me, arguing that i dont know anything about politics.

essays like this are pretty much open ended. it all comes full circle at the end as long as you can find one shred of something to relate.

Take a look at 9/11. The ignorance towards to people who "did this" was phenomenal. I mean, just because someone wears a turban, doesn't mean that they're a terrorist.

Yea, you could use that as your example, along with whats really going on.

It's because, not cause, you got him good though.

i do have ideas, its how to put them together that is boggling me a bit. all of you that are saying i should write about bush or 9/11, you have to remember this is an essay that is going to be read by people who may have very different opinions than you. i need to write about something much less controversial.

i was thinking maybe racism, or something to do with the environment and china/inda, seeing as how my intended major is bio-resources engineering

I wholeheartedly disagree. It doesnt matter if they have a different viewpoint as you. As long as you have enough evidence to back your arguments, a controversial paper is 110004035 times better than a milk and bread kind of weak ass paper. Remember, you are wanting to stand out from the other 15000 papers that they are going to get. You arent going to do that with a pussy paper. I am not saying that Bush is going to make a good paper. I would actually encourage you not too because it is too played, but I would suggest you find something that IS controversial that you feel strongly about that you have evidence to back yourself with. That is how you will win this thing. You have to stand out.
