Help Stop Federal Wolf Killing.

I may get hate for this but they do this in Idaho when I was living there and I kinda agree with it. The wolfs were eating all the farmers crops. I would rather see a family be in business and be able to provide for the family then worry about a wolf. That's just my opinion though. I have seen what the y do first hand.

You know, if they could catch them and move them else where, that would be ideal. I agree the killing of them is harsh but I still understand the reason behind it. I am not saying I am for the killings by any means.

So much ignorance in this thread. The wolves decimate the wild game population, so the host states can't give out nearly as many hunting tags, therefore the states economies go into the toilet. You all don't know how much wyoming and the surrounding states depend on hunting. Wolves need to go.

That's not how it works at all, when the wolf population is high the deer population gets fucking RAPED.

I know in my town that as soon as wolves are spotted in town they enforce the wolf bounty, which is 25 dollars a head.

Wolves are good but when there populations grow to big it could wipe out populations of deer and elk. the wolf pack in washington has quadrupled the past 4 years and its threatening the deer and elk population where i hunt. If i ever see one im about to pop it

They start by killing of fthe weak, then their numbers shoot up, now there's so many of them, they're eating everything, the herds are tiny now, and because of that, they're moving into populated areas, eating the livestock. What comes after livestock? Hmmm. They are in more urban areas. They've been sighted right outside of sheridan, population 15000. They're turning into a huge problem.

Boo fucking hoo. Farmers are encroaching on their land and making it easy for their livestock to be picked off. The Farmers COULD just be more careful, and stop taking up so much space, but no, let's kill animals instead.

wait... so now wolves are eating farmers' crops too? shit maybe we should kill them...

/sarcasm

wolves help control game populations by killing the weak and keeping the numbers under control

Yeah? Well so are the farmers that put other stupid animals in front of their natural predators like a buffet at John Goodman's house.
Wolves don't do shit. Niether do goats, sheep or llamas.

voted/signed, and don't hate, there are better ways than just killing them. I'm far from an environmentalist, but I don't think they should just be killed, and I don't really like the idea altering with nature to suit our preferences. I get that it is a problem, but hopefully there is a better way to deal with it

Nah man, wolves def do damage. They are out of control in my hometown in Idaho, they stalk farmers herds, peoples pets, and packs of wild animals such as the elk. They are multiplying in numbers and are not even native to the area, the species of wolf does not belong in this type of environment. They are Canadian Grey Wolves, which happen to be the "baddest" and "meanest" sub breed of wolves. The Government should not have brought them to Idaho or the surrounding areas.

WHERE the fuck are farmers suppose to keep their animals? Inside..... How do they make a living? How do people in those parts support their families? What do people eat and consume in those parts? Oh maybe the farmers are essential to the community, therefore their herds are important on a bigger level... And since they have started selling wolf tags the amount of wolf attacks on herds and pets has decreased.

I am not an advocate of senseless killing or killing for the fun of it, I am a hunter and follow a set of "responsibility codes"I have learned from hunters ed, my father, and pure respect for the animals and life in general.

get learned before you make assumptions...

this may be a start with some good info, at least from Idaho.

bit more extreme graphic content, but still interesting...

Yes there are downsides to this, for example http://www.belgrade-news.com/news/article_c1d1447c-cd75-11df-972d-001cc4c002e0.html

But I believe with the correct enforcement, tags, and regulations, this all could be under control and put both sides at somewhat of an ease. With every controversy there are opinions and you DO have the right to your own, just please read and learn what you are talking about.

we should start killing dolphins.. salmon numbers in the pacific are already dwindling due to damming, over fishing, and water diversion from the california delta which is a key expressway to tributaries.

despite all this, fucking dolphins eat the fish that support human families

the government is not just out to kill the wolf population for the helluvit. there's good reason behind.

wolves ruin crops. and kill cattle. and destroy property. i'm from minnesota and know this for a fact and 2nd hand experience (friends).

at least in minnesota there is are a certain amount of wolf hunting tags handed out every year to keep the population down.

its the same with deer hunting and any other kind of hunting season. they do it to control the population.

get over your stupid environmental and animal loving mind set. animals are here for us to eat and enjoy. they are not human beings.

this.

if the government can pay back the ranchers for their loss of cattle so be it!

but that's never going to happen

yeah its full of butt ass backwards logic and reasoning

nature revolves in cycles, whether it be evolution, global climate change, seasons or just about anything, there exist patterns. humans tend to fuck these patterns up and think they can be solved with anthropogenic solutions but it will just fuck things up more.when you make a mistake you dont blame it on some other party and find such a drastic solution because the consequences of which are negative towards you.

you have to live with the shit and allow it to fix itself. a lot of people in this thread mention wolves over populating and thus overeating like its some tragedy and their numbers need to be controlled anthropogenically. its a part of nature thats supposed to occur. populations are supposed to go up and down when it comes to predators. doing otherwise just prolongs the issue

despite disagreement, i approve of your south park reference

do you know any families who rely on killing an elk or deer every season so that they dont have to go into debt trying to feed themselves? im guessing not

Wait a minute, so you mean that those people moved into the wolf's natural habitat, set up poorly fenced areas of tame walking meat bags, thereby allowing the wolf population to explode because humans were and are dumbasses about securing their property, and now we have to kill the wolf population off enough so that it's not a problem?
We have quite the ego as a species.
In response to your where response:
They should move somewhere where they aren't smack dab in the middle of wolf country, that'd be a start. Grow some crops up there, but don't keep livestock farms in the middle of a predator's natural habitat. We fucked up the wolf's ecosystem, and we should pay.
Hold on, I need to check the free range chicken farm I keep next to the swamp. I hope those crocodiles didn't come back for more, otherwise I'mma have to call the government in to help me kill them off.

you clearly cannot read, as j-munz previously stated, ITS NOT THEIR NATURAL HABITAT, THEY WERE INTRODUCED TO THE AREA AND ARE NOW RAPING IT

survival of the fittest. what happened to humans being the most dangerous game?

and the argument that we should suppress wolf populations because "i know a family who has been negatively effected by them" is not only selfish but its arrogant. noone made that family choose that means of making a living.

seriously this is no different the the proposition last november that wanted to remove the striped bass in the delta from being listed as a game fish, meaning people could keep them no matter what size fish they caught. the argument was that they were a predatious species of fish that was hurting the salmon population because the ate too many of the smolt. who were the people who made this argument? farmers and corporations who were diverting attention from the damage being done to fish populations by their using of water that belonged in the delta. its all smoke and mirrors because some group is on the losing end of something

spark notes: its all bullshit

your guys' arguments make me laugh. some of your answers are SO stupid.

wolves do damage. end of story. if you dont have a season for hunting them, of course they will jump your fences, bite holes through them, destroy your property to get to your chickens, ducks, cattle, etc.

populations grow, and when there are SO many that they are doing so much damage, it needs to be dealt with. NOT fricken rounding them up and moving them a 1,000 miles away because they will just roam around and back to other farmers, and people and cause the damage they were causing before.

the bottom line is, they just need to be put down, or to not be politically correct, shot. all you people from the city are so brainwashed by environmentalists its ridiculous.

should we not kill gophers too? even tho they wreak havoc on peoples lawns? so we should stop selling gopher traps and stuff to save gophers? after all, the only reason they are killed are for sake of a nice lawn.

in minnesota, if you see a wolf out at your farm, you find your 12 gauge and go try and shoot it, because if you just scare it off, all it will do is come back later when you arent there and then destroy your property or kill your livestock.

same in montana, i have family there. and i'm sure its the same in other places where you arent raised in a city and know the facts and what it is like raising animals or being raised going hunting etc, or dealing with deer in the road, or bears, or pheasants or wolves.

if there isnt an allowed season for hunting them, they will over run suburban areas and cause so many more accidents and livestock damage.

so again. get over your animal rights mind set. and learn the facts about population control before you go about advertising for animal rights. its pathetic.

haha as if humans were ever a threat to wolves before Europeans came over. Leave the wolves alone.

Arabian you are getting cooler by the week. ive been here awhile and always thought you were kinda a dick but recently i have agreed with you a lot more.........fuck im high

want to talk about population control issues?
http://www.census.gov/main/www/popclock.html

humans dont have issues with animals until we encroach upon their habitat. in some cases it may not be a specific natural habitat, but who fucked that up in the first place?

and you know what, a rancher taking out his 12 gauge to protect his property is one thing, but an extermination is something different

its not about animal rights. its about the environment that we all live in being set on the back burner for short term issues

yea, what about population control issues?

what you're saying is animals have the same rights as humans. uh oh, we cant build a farm here because there's a pack of wolves that live here. they are ANIMALS.

and who said anything about extermination? no one.

wow, talk about ignorance, you have no idea what you are talking about.

you are all very brainwashed, please once again learn your shit before posting stupid stupid shit...

my bad dude, i thought you were trolling and i just realized you were retarded. i can rebut your response tho, just let me know

whats the difference then? its a poor solution that didnt work, just because rabbits are not predators does not mean they do not have an effect on the world around them.. but if we have to stick to predators, take a look at the cane toad situation in austrailia

yea i'm trolling. yup thats me. you got me.

you've been on here less than 8 months. shut up.

Did you not read the part that the CANADIAN GREY WOLF WAS TRANSPLANTED INTO THESE AREAS BY THE GOVERNMENT... WHY WOULD FARMERS NEED TO MOVE THEIR FARMS????

BY THE WAY I AM GOING TO GO PURCHASE A WOLF TAG JUST TO SPITE YOU, i'll post a pic of me and my dead wolf haha!! fucker@!
