Did you record the serial number?

If so, watch craigslist and notify local shops to watch for it when doing tuneups and repairs.

If you did not record the serial, you are screwed.
 
Then you're on the right track. Now just get in touch with the local shops to watch for the bike coming in. Also watch craigslist and ebay.

getting your baby's serial is crucial, and you did it so it's good.

there's two possibilities:

one - the thief wants to make cash so he's gonna try and sell it

two - the thief rides and is gonna want to use your bike. so he's definitely going to paint it and change some components/parts.

obviously speaking, keep your eyes extra open and always look at bike racks then youre passing by them
 
so the police found a bike at a park that matches the description so it is most likely found. i have to go identify it tomorow. woot.
 
do u hae a picture of it? you could xerox it and make signs descibing it

If it isn't your bike they found, i would recommend putting a post on pinkbike.com about it, they are usually helpful and will keep an eye out around local trails/parks and whatnot
 
to prevent this from happening in the future, be sure to equip your bike with a GPS tracking chip. then you can find the fuckers and kill em!
 
theifs often use the same MO multiple times, set a trap in your garage and wait in the shadows with a weapon of some kind, preferable a logging chain or blunt instrument of some kind, when culprit appears spring pounce like a leapord, attacking visishly. Or hire some ninjas.
 
Yep it was my bike i got it back and it is cleaner than when they took it! Terrible robbers tho. They were probably some stupid kids cuz there was roofing equipment in that garage worth much more than the bike. They would've needed a truck for that tho
