HELP... Rossi FKS 155 mounting concerns

It goes like this: I went to a shop (Snowcovers in Vancouver) to get some gear, which included a pair of Rossignol FKS 155 bindings. The shop tech however warned against mounting them on anything other than the race plates that are on rossi race skis, as the small bolt pattern is prone to ripping out of most skis. What I'm wondering is if any of you out there in internet-land have any experince with these bindings, whether or not they've stayed in place, or if you work in a shop and what your opinion of my the situation is. I'm mounting the bindings of Volant Spatulas. Your replies would be much appreciated.

He enters into a labyrinth, he multiplies a thousandfold the dangers which life brings with it in any case, not the least of which is that no one can see how and where he loses his way, becomes lonely, and is torn piecemeal by some minotaur of conscience. My friend has them mounted on a pair of public enemys, he skis hard on them and has yet to have any problems...

dont worry about it man, its a proven system. Most of the rossi team rides them on scratchs, and most of the dyna team rides them on Tm's. Ive mounted many pair onto non rk plated skis.

Dont listen to him..^^^ mount them.

\

i have had them on all my skis for the last couple years and they are fine.

girls: were 13

schmuck: oh yea...me to.......INCHES!

i've heard of people putting some epoxy in the mounting holes just as a little safety but i dont think it's necessary. i've had look zrs bindings on my skis for 2 years and never had a problem. they are the best bindings made though

free ipods for everyone!!!

you should always use eather a wood glue or an epoxy when mounting skis, it acts as a sealent so that water does not get into the core, causing rotting issues.

your fine man.

vtrider, a rossi rep says:

''If that binding was for RK plates only, It would say it all over the box, because that would be a huge liability issue. Trust me, they wont pull out. Its the old binding (before the new axial bindings came out, the used all fks style heels) and it never pulled out then eather.''

That works for me.

Pocket-rocket, what are you talking about? The're just the standard FKS/P18 I have them mounted to my ARV's. Just tell the dude to put a little epoxy in the holes...

you should be fine i have a friend with tms mounted with look version and he had no troubles nor have i ever heard of any probs with them

but if you are worried mount em with the plate it wont affect you that mucj onm a pow ski

especially a pure powder skis

'skis are like girls , the more you have the better'

maybe he just didn't want to bend the brakes since they aren't interchangable on the fks. Otherwise do it all the teams ride that binding no prob as stated. Use something in the holes drymounting any binding is a bad idea also stated above. Just addiing my repetitive babble.

yeah, every pro that i have seen that rides them (name drop: tanner hall, rory brushfield, dave chriton, ect..) have them mounted straight to the ski, they will be fine its not like those guys dont push their equipment hard.

'what?' Lauren every time you ask her a question for the first time!

skiing what i thought this was a porn site and every one i was talking to were sexy ppl ..i thought skiing was a sex term we all uesed. damn!-twintiprider

i just got some fks 185s and i wanna mount them on my STLs. How should i widen the brakes? and i plan to mount em strait onto my skis.

the team mostly uses the 185s but the only difference is din, the fks/p18 series heelpiece mounting is quite alot wider than normal pivot heelpieces

do it for yourself and no one else

the rossi pro team and alot of the am team use the bindings. vtrider is a rossi rep and he says there good , I have em and I like em too.. just mount em man there good bindings

You're fine. Snowcovers likes to unnecessarily worry some customers. I've heard the same thing from them also. It's crap.

Vancouver Ski and Board Services should have no problem mounting your skis.

The internet is for slandering others anonymously.
