Help playing .avi file on WMP

I downloaded office space as a torrent and tried to play it using windows media player, the audio worked perfectly but I wasn't seeing any videos. It is an .avi file, what am I missing?

probably either the divx or xvid codec.

get VLC! its great, plays everything, seriously ive never found a file it wont play

Bump for this thread cuz im having trouble

have a mac its pretty new the newest silver and black one and it wont play .avi vids

Just download the DivX player, it's a quick download and it also gives you a converter so you can burn and watch the dvd on tv.
