no. gotta know what size wheels/widths/offsets that work with the car, coil adjustments ( assuming you aren't doing bags) and playing around with spacers, ride height, dampening, ect. just do a 16x10 et20 on an xb. you'll be the coolest cat on the block, hahaha.
 
those both look like shit in my opinion

i used to drive an 01 jetta (brother has it now) with a boss ass ski rack on top...loved that thing. they've def gone downhill look wise though

on the plus side...a rainbow bumper sticker would go amazingly well with either of those cars

Get the jetta, great car, relatively cheap to fix and good mpg and reliable.

DOnT fucking stance your car or mod it out and do all kinds of stupid shit to it. For one you kill the warranty and you just look like a fucking idiot driving around. Plus you totally kill the ride of the car. Enjoy a sore asshole after going over bumps. I truly don't understand kids these days. Whatever happened to the good ole days of just driving a car for what it was

I love how these threads always end up arguing about how useless or stupid it is to stance or mod a car.. Do what you want with your car, don't let other people tell you what to do.. And if its between those two, def the jetta..
 
How come these are your only two cars? Are you getting a free car and these are your only choices?

Anyways i say jetta, my friend has a xb and the interior quality is shit, its all cheap plastic. Idk about anything mechanical, but i just dont like scions
 
ya if you're buying a brand new car, don't start messing with it. No reason to void the warranty because you wanted to mod your car
 
I don't see the appeal of buying a new car. Unless you have a lot of loot or have a very reliable/well paying job that you don't mind working at for a while. Most people will get put on these very low monthly payment deals. It's all cool until you aren't even a 1/4 of the way paid off and the car is worth half what the sticker price on the lot was. Also when you're in 10 years still paying it off like many people and it's worth 2 grand instead of the 20 you paid.

Not trying to be a buzzkill. Just saying that's something to think about. Just that a lot of people get roped in by no money down, and end up upside down with the car. Going back even a year or two or can sometimes cut the price almost in half. Still have very low mileage, still have that new car feel. Hell you can even get it detailed if you really want that new car smell.
 
^You're on a roll today.Are you paying for this car? Is there a budget? Are you limited to these two options because of a company/parents will only pay for one of these two?
 
he would have to have a reason to buy those specific vehicles , i mean, fuck, look at them ! you know what you could get with that money ?? well about a million other choices that are much better, no matter what ur needs are. and OP if you HAVE to choose between those two... well i hate even saying this... but get the car... save yourself SOME dignity .
 
Totally go Scion. Way more reliable (built by Toyota) and they look fucking sick.

Why are you asking us again? It seems like both are mechanically identical, so this debate is purely aesthetics... In which case, it's personal preference. If you are 90$ scion, then get the scion.
 
reliable of course ! its built by toyota as you said. but if you say the xb is fucking sick , ill have to disagree ha . but your vehicle, along with a lot of other scions , especially the newer ones are great looking affordable and cheap and reliable, i just against the box look , no matter what you do it looks like shit . and i think he could get a better car for that money, but that just my opinion. i know for a fact scions are awesome when it comes to reliability ! i just cant see anyone wanting an xb, just my 2 cents. haha good luck man for sure.
 
I looked it up, and the Jetta-s costs at least $17,775 with auto gearbox (you're american, so I assumed that's what you're going for). Now, if you have that much money to spend on a car, buying a brand new vehicle feels pretty damn stupid. I bet there is a ton of awesome used cars for less than that.

I don't know about the taxes and depreciation and stuff in the US, but over here you basically need to be either rich or a company to buy a new car.

or buy a used car. do a little research about one you find appealing to your sensibilities, find out what goes wrong with them, etc. Then after you spend 3 days learning about your future investment, buy the car, have no debts, and take care of it so you can continue to drive it for just as long as any new piece of shit vehicle claims to last.
